Sounds more like a couple of weeks ago was the time to invest in Nintendo.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Now is the time to invest in Nintendo people.

'whoa..' invest in Nintendo Pie? I0I

On a serious note, making money is something Nintendo has always been great at.

By then it was unclear if stocks would jump. This jump isn't too big but it does hint at great beginnings.

I completely agree that now is the time, and I personally invested 5 months too soon.

That's shocking... -_-

Dear Nintendo,

You're welcome.

It's never really "clear" what's going to happen on the stock market. That's why investing in a single company is so risky. Nintendo's stock could just as well plummet over the next month as it could skyrocket.

Anyone who was actively looking to invest in a company and not just jumping aboard whatever seems to be doing well would have been paying attention for the past month, seen that Nintendo's press event was approaching, and decided either to invest or not to invest. Investing in a stock that shows no direct signs of recent growth is a bit of a leap of faith, but that's what investing is. It's a risky business.

tl;dr, buy low, sell high. Those who bought two weeks ago bought lower than those who are buying now, so they stand to profit more. Two weeks ago was the time to buy to maximize profits.

You're both correct. When I invested in end of April, I was resting on the assurance that the summer releases would envigorate Nintendo's success and lead into the inevitable upswing that comes with the launch of a new generation (and especially a new Wii console).

Then my hopes were on the XL and NSMB2, but neither of those lifted the heavy stock, which kept falling. However with the optimism surrounding the WiiU, the stock has only been going up. In hindsight, this is the time to invest in Nintendo, as from now things can only go up.

^ I guess what I mean is that if you're trying to maximize profits, the time to invest is at the lowest possible point -- actually late June, but it was pretty close in early September. Whereas if you're trying to minimize risk, now would hypothetically be a good time to invest. The problem there is that people who are trying to minimize risk shouldn't invest in a single company, certainly not Nintendo. You can have decent security investing in "safer" stocks like Google, but Nintendo is definitely not one of those stocks. If you really want to minimize risk, look for a Mutual Fund.

That's my read on the situation, anyway. I'm certainly no stock broker.
