Yeah. One game out of what,...
Anyways, that one game doesn't define the entire PS3 library. And I believe it is only available in japan too.
PS3 is region free though. It is advertised as such too. I don't know how the publishers of persona 4 arena managed to make it region locked.

yeah its a bad decision, for eu and us gamers.
but the us is more screwed than the eu i think in this case, because the eu got more titles than the us in the wii era

that one game is proof enough that the ps3 is not region free, but yes 99.9% of the games are not region locked.
and no us version of that game is also region locked as will the eu version be.
but i dont think sony itself ever advertised it as region free ? at least official ?
Then buy a European Wii U? :P
Seriously though, do they have anything to gain from this decision? Seems like nothing but lost software sales to me.

most of the time its a financial loss for the publisher if they dont region lock it.
Like europeans/japanese import from the us and save 20-30$ for each game.
or if you have publisher a in jp b in us and c in eu one of these will make losses and have less sales if the game is not region locked.

Oh, I should have thought about that :P New games can cost up to 91 USD over here!

...what the hell? xD
I don't think I know any language of use that you don't already know!

There is a difference between making a region locked game and having a region locked console.
The PS3 itself is region free, but if a developer/publisher wants they can region lock their specific games. That aspect does not change the fact that the console is region free.
On the other hand, consoles like 3DS and Wii U are region locked, so all games will be region locked as well and individual developers/publishers don't have a choice of making it region free if they want.
At least that is how I understand.

bigger than that? lol
actually its not that big of a deal at all. all people have to do is wait a bit longer to get games and games that don't get to the US or EU are probably games people would not play in these regions like the crazy Japanese games only some people like outside Japan...
