Forums - Nintendo - Is Nintendo shortchanging the Wii and DS?

The Wii went on way too long if anything.

The Wii U really should've come out last fall. By now it would have 15-20 million in userbase and would be getting every third party game this fall/early next year (RE6, BioShock, MG Rising, etc.).

The industry has been dying this year, all these companies let this generation run on way too long.

DS, they did everything they could with that hardware and badly needed to upgrade. Games like Monster Hunter 4 and Kid Icarus Uprising and Resident Evil Revelations wouldn't be possible on a DS.

Around the Network

Like most of you I also think that localizing a few more games in 2010/2011 would have benefited Wii a great deal! But Pineapple has a really really good point

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Nintendo could have done some 3DS dual releases with the Wii, for example i could have quite easily seen Pilotwings resort as a Wii game ( would prob have sold well too ). Would it have been costly to port 3DS games to Wii??

No, they're old tech. Let them die. I was bored of the DS' graphics by about 2008 and longed for an updated version. The Wii took a little longer, by 2010 I was ready for a new one (pretty much as soon as I was bored of NSMBWii and the long drought before SS, its swansong). Couldn't be happier to be moving to Wii U and already have a 3DS (now XL model). Old tech is old.
