| pokoko said: I'm sort of in the same boat. I plan to grab a 360 as soon as the deals come out, but as a PC/PS3 gamer, I'm kind of struggling to identify games to buy. Halo for sure, I'm looking forward to that, but 3rd person cover shooters aren't my thing at all, so I doubt I'll get Gears of War. I have the Gran Turismo games, so I can't see Forza as a priority. I guess, then, that what I'm looking for are games I can't get on PC or PS3 which are worth playing. So far I have: Halo Trials Shadow Complex! Also, how far back is it worth going with Halo? |
Crackdown (or skip it and get Crackdown 2)
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
Tales of Vesperia
Mark of the Ninja
Fez
Spelunky
Project Gotham Racing 4
Burnout Revenge
Splosion Man
Halo 3
Halo 3 ODST
Halo Reach
Halo Wars
Halo CE Anniversary
ilomilo
Fable 2
Kinect with Kinect Sports, Kinect Sports Season Two, Dance Central 2 and The Gunstringer (and Kinect Adventures obviously)
If you're planning to complete the Halo campaign with a friend, then you should get all Halo games.

This is the one and only 360 game I envy

Is Crackdown 2 better than the first game? I'm thinking of borrowing my friend's 360 again to play a few of the games that I want that are Xbox-only. Crackdown was one of them. I always assumed the original was much better based on the reviews.

In my opinion it's definitely better than the first one, because it offers more things to do.
But it's really more like Crackdown 1.5 (that's why it got worse reviews), therfore only buy both if you're a real fan of the series.
Otherwise skip the first and get the second one instead.
Much more weapons. More/different orbs to hunt. Added zombies (much like the recent Prototype 2) and multiplayer.

Well Lost Odyssey is better. Tales of Vesperia probably will turn out to be better also when I eventually come around and beat it.

From what I hear, Crackdown 1 is more solid and focused but Crackdown 2 attempts to be "more fun", whilst it's good in its own right, it doesn't capture the same magic as C1

Thanks. Forgot about Splosion Man, that goes on the list. Tales of Vesperia, too. Might try Fable 2, and I need to look into Mark of the Ninja.

Thanks man. Might as well give the second a try then!

If it's flashed, be careful. MS does an update each year that unflashes Xboxes, bans that Xbox from Live and corrupts your save data, so you can't move it to another xbox. So if you load a game and it asks you to update your system, don't do it.
