that would be sweet

if the price drops to 300 dollars in the us
it will just drop to 300 euro's from the 400 it is right now in europe
but a european price drop is likely to be the last in line

Poor Pachter... At least he continues his streak of being completely wrong. So that's all well in good in the Wii's favour.

I'll make a prediction, 2008 will be another good year for Nintendo, they will break some more records, reap their largest profit ever as a company and head into 2009 as the market leader in hand helds and consoles. 2009 will be much the same. There is nothing on the market or coming to the market during 2008 that will change things.

The wii has many features that together have created it's demand.

1. innovative controls that are not intimidating to new users
2. wii sports and a great library of other games targeted at the casual family orientated audience
3. price advantage
4. a ton of good press/hype about being good for your health and mind

now considering the price of the wii has constantly been selling for $350 or more I somehow think that the price advantage is the smallest effect to the wii's demand. g'luck on that $300 price tag ps3.

 Which predictions were you right about exactly? Was it the one where the PS3 starts outselling all other consoles when the 40gb model was released? Or how GT5 prologue was going to put the PS3 at the top of the japanese sales charts? Or another one of your super pro-PS3 predictions that have all been wrong?

As noted in another thread the evidence so far shows that people are not buying the Wii to play ps3/360 type games on it but to play the Big N games (Wii sport/ family games) which if so then it won't make a different how cheap PS3 becomes.

he also sems to think that people buying the ps3 are only going to buy that system, not a combo of Wii/Ps3 and such
