Famitsu magazine has confirmed that God Eater 2 will be released simultaneously for both the PSP and PlayStation Vita.

Players will be able to transfer save data between the two versions of the game, and both PSP and Vita versions will be cross-compatible for multiplayer.

God Eater 2 will be released in 2013. Famitsu also say that the game will feature gorgeous visuals on Vita.

I see inflation is hitting hype as well. Wasn't Godeater a psp game? why is the sequel a "megaton"?

This is nice, but far from a megaton. Even the sales of Good Eater on PSP were only ok.

I remember God Eater selling very well on PSP in Japan. This game will move hardware. I'm not saying a gazillion Vitas but we will see a spike.

God Eater did quite well (in Japan, don't know if it was released in the west) so it's definitely one of Vita's bigger titles [in Japan] as of now. Perhaps not a megaton but it's still pretty big. Would have been bigger if it were exclusive though.

But.... it's also coming to the PSP....

Was this post to counter posters' claims that it will sell well on Vita and perhaps increase hardware sales? If so, elaboration will be nice instead of a hit and run post with content already mentioned in the very first line of the OP.

What's the point of releasing it on Vita when it being on PSP automatically makes it playable on Vita...? (assuming it's downloadable)

I actually like this game more than Monster Hunter.
