Okay fellas thanks for the input for my build. My knowledge is limited to turning on a switch if I'm honest ;)

The link below (if it works) is my saved basket.

Any feedback on glaring ommisions and compatibility would be greatly appreciated.

Not quite decided on the gpu and will be using my hd tv until I get my monitor. Will be playing most games but for now dawn of war 2, company of heroes are going to keep me busy.

Nice on in advance!!

We're not going to be able to see your build as we don't have your login. Maybe copy and paste the list directly into a post.

Sounds good.

I'd personally go for a 120Gb SSD for booting if you can afford it.

What did you decide on for GPU?

I'm thinking on this one if its compatible.

Regarding the SSD how do you value its importance?

Nice final build.

Still recommend a better case and an SSD though.

hmm actually you would probably be better going for the i5 3450
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-i5-34501155-ivy-bridge-quad-core-31ghz-5-gt-s-dmi-650mhz-gpu-6mb-smart-cache-31x-ratio-77

you won't notice any performance difference in games unless you have a crazy good GPU and it's a bit cheaper might as well go with that.

And the 7770 looks like a good card for the money

@brendude I see the ssd as a luxury for the time being. Something down the road for sure. I hear you can put them in a ps3!

Casewise mine has 4 fans and the others I looked at did'nt. Going to have a look after work tonight.

@zarx The 7770 is the one I was eyeing up my man. Do I have to get a particular one or are they all compatible? I'm a noob

Gonna take a look at that cpu you recommended at brew time. Damn work!!

The 7770 is a good quality card for the price. Don't know if you like overclocking yourself, but if not, you may want to look at the OC version as it's only £5 more. Either way you'll get a decent card for the money.

As for the SSD it depends on how you use it. I have mine solely as a boot drive. I built mine semi-budget so my SSD is only 60Gb so I only have the basics on their, but Windows and Firefox load signifcantly faster then on a normal drive. If you plan to put some games on it then you'll get significant performance gains on loading time (and probably on games where streaming is a priority).

My boss just asked me to work weekend. So thats my graphics card sorted!!!! Although was looking forward to relaxing. Oh well

Ssd sounds awesome but will have to wait.

Any modern GPU will work fine, they don't really have compatability issues these days. Not unless you are doing something like building a PC the size of a toaster or using Dual GPUs, nether scenario is aplicable here.
