FFXIV is looked at as a failure. That would be a bundle that sits on a store shelves for quite some time. |
FFXIV 2.0 isn't. That is a bundle that will fly of the shelves before you can say "FFXIV 2.0 is a failure" 10 times.

I'm only tempering unreasonable expectations. I thought he was saying this would help Wii U sell 1m+ day one in Japan. @osed: My guess is rather because it is an MMO, but also because of the Wii U version. I don't expect the Wii U version to outsell the Wii version though, but it should help the game get to 1m+ combined. |
I thought he was talking about Japan... That what made sense to me, now Im confused...

I don't think he really meant "millions" literally...it's more of a "phrase" nowadays to mean..."It'll sell LOADZZZ"..although conegamer is usually very literal.
The game itself isn't going to sell "millions" as it would require it to sell over 2 Million which it won't...so there's no way it could ever sell "millions" of systems.
But let's not get into the nitty gritty stuff. The FACT is...this is HUUUGE...a DQ game can be played for free if you buy a premium WiiU.

That's what I was thinking when he said millions. Which made sense in my mind... :0
I wonder if Nintendo will ever get FFXIV 2.0, or if not at least the next FF, if this bundle turns out to be a big seller?
The Wii U will never get out of the top spot for console sales in Japan anytime soon.
Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest Beta for free at launch with a new gen machine.
This is every japanese gamer wet dream.
Nintendo are incredibly smart for the way they've handled the Wii U in japan.

That, plus a new 2D Mario ensures success for Nintendo in Japan. If that doesn't make other 3rd parties jump aboard the system there, I don't know what will.

Do not forget the fact that the most sold platform gets Dragon Quest XI. So it is either 3DS or Wii U. Another megaton.
About Final Fantasy and Metal Gear, I'm not so sure. Even with Ps4 selling less I could see it the home of the FF and MGS franchises.
