This is a surprise. Especially that it's bundled with a Capcom game.

Free? It's the beta and you have to purchase a console (the more expensive one) to play. Oh, you were talking about WW sales. I don't see how this is relevant to the Vita though, but oh well. |
It'll help a lot, stop being such a party pooper.
I still don't get why they first released a version of the game on a dying system that will for all intents and purposes be completely dead once the Wii U launches. You'd think Nintendo would have wanted them to make it a Wii U exclusive to push even more hardware. MH3 and DQX both online and both for Wii U... that's the sickest lineup for the Japanese audience that Nintendo has had on a console going all the way back to the SNES days.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

My guess it's that the reason the Wii version hasn't sold more than expected is because people are waiting for the Wii U version, which makes a lot of sense imo.

Yeah, I definitely see this being a success for WiiU as well. Get this, and we'll surely get FF and other hardcore 3rd party titles from Japan as well. This is a VERY smart move on Nintendo's part; it shows just who they are targeting the system to.

The guy in charge of the series allegedly prefers to have the game be on a system that's already done well, rather than have the game be a system seller. I suppose that's why he stuck with the Wii. The Wii U edition is probably just because the Wii is pretty much dead now, all these years after the game began development.
Admittedly this is mostly inference on my part.

I thought he was saying this would help Wii U sell 1m+ day one in Japan. @osed: My guess is rather because it is an MMO, but also because of the Wii U version. I don't expect the Wii U version to outsell the Wii version though, but it should help the game get to 1m+ combined. |
Being a MMO could also be reason the game hasn't sold very well, and since the online on the Wii it's bad, people might wait for a more robust and better online service with the Wii U.

I think this game will do very well, cause the pad is great for it.
MMO could really shine on Wii U. Phantasy Star Online 2 getting a port is very likely, imo.

This ^^
Demand for the Premium SKU and the Monster Hunter SKU in particular is going to be bloomin insane...and that's before you even think about taking NSMB U into account.
WOW this will help WiiU a lot!!
It's like getting a launch game bundled with the WiiU & that game happens to be a mainline Dragon QUest.
SONY should get this done with a FFXIV beta & any new PS3 sold.
