I just love when people say they'll wait for a "true next generation system". I can't help it but smile every time I see it! Hahaha!

whats wrong with saying so?

edit: ot not impressed honestly

Games this early will never look good on a new console (just look at early 360 games) and since there is no real confirmation of the specs it's kinda silly to assume the console it's on par with the current gen system. When the real specs of the system are announced and a real comparison can be made (like 2x, 3x times more powerful) then it will make sense to start talking about it.

I mean. The system looks more solid than the Wii and its at least heading in the right direction.

But, no way in hell I'm holding a big clunky freaking ipad to play a video game.

I'm pretty sure it also has classic controller support doesn't it?

Then it is basically a PS3/360.   The only "appealing" thing is the controller, so if you don use it is just another current gen console.  Why any of us who have one already would be interested in the WiiU, if we dont like nintendo games??

haha wrote my post above before I read yours...I guess the obvious answer is that people who don't like nintendo aint gonna buy the machine. Not really that big a problem if you look at the size of nintendo's fanbase...

I don't get why suddenly everyone is feeling threatened and being so vitriolic towards something they aint gonna buy anyway.

I mean, I'm not a big fan of rhubarb (ech it's gross!)...so I just don't go near the stuff and barely think about it. I don't devote hours of my shortening life to bitching about it on forums.

My 2 year old $600 PC still makes games look better than the Wii U. I don't think PCs from 2005 had that problem with the 360, so I don't know why you find it funny.

I want it for one thing. Being able to play any of its games on the tablet anywhere around the house. As long as it has that feature at launch it's got my sale.

I think Nintendo has a very strong offering with the Wii U as the hardware is good enough to provide developers with enough muscle to create wonderfully looking games. And knowing Nintendo's inhouse capabilities together with the new controller concept (yea, I know tablets existed before) we can expect some exciting new gameplay aswell.

Ofcourse the competition will offer more raw power, but whether or not that results in notably better looking games is questionable to a degree in my opinion.

Still, I won't pick up a console until after it is clear what all the manufacturers bring to the table and at what costs.

well i actually can remember launch window 360 games for the most part showing noticeable improvements to games from the previous gen... i specifically remember journalists raving about how realistic sweat looked in certain sporting games as 1 example

but regardless if whats shown doesn't impress a person then i don't see the issue with them saying they'll wait and see what the competition will have in store

Non-Nintendo-Fan here - I will buy it after the first Zelda gets released for it. - So no changes here...

i haven't seen a post in this thread so far that was as  vitriolic as this

"... "Ill wait for true nextgen system".. in the mean time ill go keep crying about bayonetta2 .. im hardcorz yo! .."

The only thing that surprised me was Bayonetta 2 for the WiiU only. Not because of the exclusivity per se, but because the developers are treating like crap the gamers that supported their first game.

The WiiU can have all the exclusives they want, and I wont give a damn, as long as any other companies don't follow this nonsensical stupidity. Releasing a new IP on certain consoles, and make the sequel exclusive for another one, in which gamers don't give a damn about that genre, and don't know what the fuck the franchise is about; is just brilliant (not).....LMAO

Now this franchise does not exist for me anymore, nor any other "Platinum games + Sega" title, because they may end up doing the same thing again. If they don't show me, as a costumer, respect; then I wont have any respect to show them, and they wont get my money. I know it is bit radical, but what Sega allowed this time is pure crap.

The other news about the specs, and the other exclusive games and ports are unimportant for me, because I dont give a damn about mario, zelda, pokemon, metroid, etc. For me the 1st party exclusives Sony develops are the games I need, and enjoy. And I am sure, that the games 360 users get, are what they enjoy the most, and most dont give a damn about nintendo franchises.

I think that the console will fail, because it´s main "appealing" factor is the gigantic controller, that I find it quite annoying if you need to look at 2 screens at the same time if you want to get "the whole" experience of the game. And for those who say..."you can play the games with the other controller", so according to them it is just a PS3/360,....... why would I be interested in that, if I already have one?

My suspicion is its more Sammy that dropped the ball. Sammy seems to want to be rid of Sega, an albatross around their collective neck, and so purged anything Sega's doing that isn't very popular (like Sonic, Hatsune Miku, or PSO)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Nintendo just does not deliver the kinds of games I like. There's just no way around it. So now that we have pretty much full details on the Wii U I am still not compelled. Until I see stuff like a non-super-deformed final fantasy, or Dark Souls, or Fallout/Elder Scrolls type games on a Nintendo console I won't be chomping at the bit to get it.

The controls are not at all compelling either, id actually be scared if some of my favorite games from last gen decided to jump to Wii U and use the gamepad. Might kill the series for me, leave me with one less games to play.
