You would have to leave your iphone plugged into an outlet if you were going to do any serious gaming session.

terrible observation

Why would that be a problem? If they're gaming, then they'll have no need for their iPhone..

Nintendo is doomed!

if apple tries to make a move to get into the gaming industry and compete for the hardcore market they will be crushed...

Doubt it. They'll already have an install base of over 300 million...

disagree.  gaming has a required critical mass in order for a platform to be successful.  if apple takes out the base ... nintendo/MS/Sony will be crushed under their own weight. for apple success isn't about winning the core market, it's about pushing an already stuggeling market off a cliff and watching it die.

btw - i'm not looking forward to that result...i'm just telling it like i see it.

Yea, I was kind of just pointing out the obvious.  There isn't really any drawback on that.  However, how would the phone handle calls.  Would the call interrupt gaming like it does usually on a phone?  I am sure they could have an option to where it ignores all calls.  Wouldn't be bad if it interrupted for a single player game but multiplayer it would be a problem.

yeah but those 300 million devices were not bought to be played on, yes gaming on tablets and smartphones has grown a lot. but poeple dont buy iphones because of angry birds, they buy it because if iOS the apps(apps such as whats app and skype not games), the features and the connectivity to the interent and all that stuff, gaming is just an extra thing. i dont say the iphone will stop selling i mean what ever they announce to attract the core and hard core gamer will fail miserably at doing so
