man, some of these people here are really sensitive, they didnt even try to attempt to give a reason why the games sold that much, just cry cry he hates the Wii, which isnt even true, its not like he is saying anything negative. I dont believe the Wii name being in the title is a large factor but it is one.
Wii Sports was heavily bundled, Mario Kart Wii...not quite sure, that might have to do with the name, Resort had alot of promotion and launched the motion plus thing, Play, lot of promotion and came with a controller; im pretty sure people bought it for the controller, NSMBW its Mario, Fit and Plus lot of promotion.

Music sucked and i think most realized that, Party didnt get that much promotion and kinda came late to the game, Play motion came even later and IMHO the crappy original ensured alot of people didnt want to make a return trip

isn't the real reason is that Wii Sports was an enjoyable experience which cause the annotation that anything with Wii in its name to be of consideration. Add in the expert marketing campaigns like the "Wii would like to play" commercials and well known video game hero mario and that's how they sold that many. Jay you are partially right but the reasoning isn't completely accurate.

On-topic: So you're saying that the word WII makes people crazy to want to buy a game, even if it's a bad game? On what did you base thii? The fact that the WII was a success? so if God of War 2 was called God of War PS2 it would have sold 25M, don't make me laugh.

Actually, the rule doesn't apply. 'Playstation' isn't the name of the console. 'Playstation 3' is the name of the console. 'Playstation' is just the name of the brand.

If there was a game with 'Playstation 3' in the title, that game would do 20 million easy.
