Forums - Nintendo - Renegade Kid using Steam version of Mutant Mudds to fund new 3DS/Wii U games, will not leave Nintendo behind to make PC games

I assume that the PC remake of Dementium II is also to fund new games. Hopefully Dementium III...

I find this funny because it reminds me a lot of what people used to say developers were doing when they put out party games on the Wii and then larger more serious titles on PS360/PC. Using less meaningful efforts with large gains on one platform to fund their more fervent and meaningful efforts on the platform they prefer to develop on. So I guess I'll speak for all the PC/Steam lovers out there and just say "what a prick".

You are getting the exact same games the Nintendo crowd gets, they do not feed you shovelware to finance them awesome gaems on other platforms. So how exactly is this comparable?

@Libroex
How so? I can't see how the PC gamers are getting a better deal out of this since all they got was a late port. There's no mention of these new games that the developer is planning to make with the funding on Nintendo platforms being on PC at the same time or ever really far as I could tell.

@Chandler
Yes, you're right, they are not the exact same situation, but I already mentioned how the two are similar and that's all that's required for a comparison. If it was the exact same situation I would have worded things more harshly and perhaps even done the cliche calling out of a fanbase for what I perceive to be hypocritical. No they aren't exactly the same, but they're similar enough to be funny to me. Everyone enjoys being on the good end of a crappy deal, so don't feel bad about it, but I don't think if you were a PC only gamer that you would be taking this as fantastic news, just like Nintendo fans didn't like when they got a raw similar raw deal, but as someone who owned an HD console as well as a Wii I was perfectly fine with that set up to be honest.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions yet. If Renegade Kid finds success on PC comparable to their success on the DS and 3DS, they will support PC more in the future. This could end up being good news for PC fans and Nintendo fans alike... but we have to see how it plays out first.

The PC is getting games that Nintendo games aren't getting at all from them and an enhanced version of Demntium. Also, there is nothing to suggest that the PC will not get the games that theyw ill be making for the Wii U.

All that they stated is that they will not neglect Nintendo for PC games and that the money they make will be used for Nintendo games, not just PC. Everythign they are doing right now is in favor of the PC so in now way is the PC getting the short end of the stick like what you brought about Nintendo and the other consoles.

Is there anything that can be done favorably for Nintendo that someone won't try to find fault with?

“Porting Mutant Mudds to the PC, and selling it on Steam, has the potential of bringing some much needed funds into Renegade Kid, which will go straight into the development of new games. As we’re being perfectly – and frankly – honest here; I would like to put the majority of our future development efforts into the 3DS eShop and Wii U eShop titles (we’re authorized Wii U developers now btw – excite!).”

I'm sorry but that doesn't sound like what you're saying, they need funds which they got from a late port to PC, and then they'll use that for developing new games of which the majority they'd like to be on 3DS and WiiU.

Are you telling me that the 20-30 Wii U related threads you put up this week all had someone raining on your parade?  that sounds unlikely.  And I don't even include this as finding fault with something being done for Nintendo, if I'm finding fault with anyone it's Nintendo fans for switching their stance on this type of situation when it benefits them instead of hurting them, but I don't even care to point fingers like that, I just find the situations similar and funny and felt like commenting on it since it was striking to me.  Nothing more and nothing less.

@FOX

That's a fair point, it is somewhat jumping to conclusions to say that they'll put the majority of their efforts into Wii U and 3DS and PC will be a second thought, they could change their minds if the PC sales do well, but I think my statement is fair based on what the quote given in the OP.
