Yes, but I'll wait until the price comes down to replace my aging projector.
The price has come down from $80k in 2008 to $25k in 2012. Still a ways to go.

I think the 55'' Toshiba 4KTV (the one with glassless 3D) that is already in stores is way cheaper than $25k though - it's 7.6k€ in Germany.

Is that the Toshiba ZL2? It only does 720p 3D though for up to 9 people simultaneously, you have to stay in one of the sweet spots while watching of course. Not that I'm really interested in 3D anyway.

Although the 10k is probably just the projector, no clue how much the laser light source is going to be. The 'lamp' is supposedly separate and feeds the projector through a fibre optic cable. No noise if you put that in another room. Bit it might be different for the home version. Need more info :)

I'll wait to see what Panasonic has to offer, Their PT-AE1000U is still serving me well.

Thread title should be:

Are you ready for 25K?

Coming to this thread, after reading the 10 yrs of sony decline thread, should put things into perspective. The cost of the T.V. is more then I make in a year. That's just insane.

I don't see the benefit of 4K resolution or see the point of having 80 or 90 inch televisions!! Surely having a 42 inch hd tv is enough

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

25k for 4k? That's 21k too expensive!

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
