Sony’s Monster 4k TV Costs More than a Car

Do you want the gargantuan, gorgeous 84-inch 4k TV Sony recently tempted us with? So do we. But are you willing to sell an organ for it? Official pricing is out now!

Sony's mega-high-res beast will set you back a whopping-but-sadly-expected $25,000 when it hits stores in November—and you can pre-order starting tomorrow. Or you can pay your rent for a few years, or take a trip around the world. Or do all of the above.

So, yes, it'll take several years before this beautiful tech is something you can afford to actually put in your home.

Yes! I'll take 2.

84 inch is always expensive. However, on smaller scrrens I dont see the 4k advantage.

4k worth 25,000. No.

4k has a hard sweet spot to notice it too.

I will pass.

I'll probably pick up a 4K set within the next 5 years

I just got my first 1080p tv :/

Around the Network

Just bought our first HDTV two years ago.

No, I'm not ready for 4K. Won't be for a very long while.

Do 4k movies even exist atm...?

another indicator that 4K for the PS4 / Xbox 3 is just not needed in the next 6 years. It would only increase the pricepoint and nobody will use it.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

4K res probably will be supported as output resolution and for movies, but not used as native resolution (aside maybe from some xbl/psn games) - that shouldn't really increase the pricepoint of those machines

lol useless and unnecessary!

bring me cheaper glassless 3D first thanks!
