Forums - Gaming - Could the next iphone be as powerful as the PSv?

With the ipad redisgn being about as powerful as the PSV in terms of raw tech, is it possible that the next iphone from apple (which will more than likely be at least as powerful as the current ipad model) can be as powerful if not more powerful than sony's new nexgen handheld? I don't think it'll come close to producing games on par with the PSv, but it can be very close in terms of tech.. what do you guys think?

rumor's suggest iphone next will release with a quad core processor, tagged the A6 chip.. and a chunk of 1GB of ram

It's possible, but I doubt it if they want to keep the cost low enough. It will be in the same league, though.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

Even if it did it would pretty much guarenteed that the software support would be well below that that the current handhelds have.

And knowing Apple it would cost an arm and a leg.

In raw power it may be better, but because it is not a primary gaming machine without optimized OS for the purpose, we may not see what it would be really capable of.

But you can count with an overhyped casual-undercover game from Epic showcasing what it can do.

I expect dual-core A9 because Apple haven't changed the baseband chip AND case AND processor SoC in the same design before. It would be a big risk.

Yes.

It will either have the same chip as the last iPad or same chip as PSV.

If it matches last iPad only, then the NEXT iPad will match or beat PSV.

It won't beat it, but it could match it.

I'd hope and cross my figers that it's the same chip as the psv. Hello Sony's master plan to drive the cost of the vita down.

Probably, or maybe. But one thing is for sure its battery life is going to be utterly crap if they do. A phone needs to be constantly on, they shouldn't aim for raw power at expense of that. For a game console alone that's fine, but a phone? No one is going to like a phone they have to charge half way through the day if they are expecting a call. Any idea what those rumored specs would give for battery life?

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
