The idea that I or Viper shouldn't be a mod because we don't know every single thread that's ever made seems a bit silly to me. Goes along with the old idea that forum users shouldn't have to report things because mods should just be reading every single thread and see the issue before it's reported.

On the other hand, you shouldnt assume a thread made by a forum user is the law. Especially when a moderator said this in the very same thread youre talking about - "I won't moderate anyone in this thread but be reminded that names like Xbox 180, Delaystation 4, Portstation 4 are not to be used."

Anyone who calls someone a fanboy gets moderated, no matter how many posts they have. If you see them, report them.

You said that Microsoft were blowing smoke with re-hashes and sequels then went on to refer to the "crossovers" as "transplants". I mean, come on. The very term "blowing smoke" is insinuating that they are trying to deceive people. The post was trolling Microsoft/Xbox.

See, this is just wrong. If you want proof look at Seece. Seece has been here since 2008, has over 26,000 posts and was just moderated in this very thread. We dont target new users, we just have a more stern approach with them. When someone has less than X00 posts and they are already calling people fanboys or being very anti-whatever company, then we know for a fact that they will go on to cause trouble in the future.

Having over a certain number of posts wont make you invulnerable, it just means we will use a proper progression system when moderating.

I dont expect you to search entire threads for mod posts, but when youre directly quoting a thread I expect you to be up-to-date with what actually happened in that thread.

I have both been called and called others fanboys many times since the rule started and not been banned. The rule is probably the dumbest one the site has. You guys are basiically acting like the cops, lawyers, and or judges that never let a crime go due to curcumstance. This never happens with them in real life situations . Such as murder. If someone murders in self defense they usually are not charged with a crime in the US of A. I could think of a million more examples. By not bending the rules, or at least pretending you do not, you guys can look bad. You in fact might appear  not to be thinking, calculating, emotional, and flawed human beings.

I didnt lock it at first because I saw it has some harmless fun, though TruckOSaurus saw it as something more (with reports flowing in against the thread also). His word holds more weight than mine when it comes to stuff like that, so Im inclined to go with what he says. Was a mistake on my part to not lock it when I first opened it up.

You were moderated because calling it the X180 is generally seen as mocking them for changing so many things since the reveal. It will grind on people, much like saying Delaystation for example. There was no mistake, just dont do it again in the future.

Really, even if someone is being a gigantic pain in the arse and being everything that would make them a fanboy, calling them one only causes trouble and exacerbates the situation thus ruining the thread for others, although we do let things go from time to time depending on the situation. We arent robots who stick to the rule set 100%.

Spurge, the thread was locked. The thread also had a mod clearly state that such names were not to be used. And I warned you for you using it. But you're acting as though you were banned for it.
