Someone creates a thread, Seece in this case, with a list of games that he wants people to vote down or up. Another user (tbone) comes into thread and says OP has to correct a perceived (by tbone) mistake, OP answers that one game from that franchise is enough and it is quite clear that SSB Wii U is what the OP aims for, the absolute lack of handheld titles in the list should also be a dead give-away. OP repeats several times that the title stays, the other user somehow takes this personally and keeps pushing the same point across six different posts (incl the original). OP tells him to lay off and that he will report him if the keeps it up, said user is warned via PM but chooses to write a childish and antagonizing post on the OP's wall and is subsequently banned for 3 measly days.
In summary; Seece makes a perfectly good thread with no ill intentions, tbone comes to tell OP how his post should be phrased, Seece refuses and tells him to lay off the whole subject of an edit. tbone keeps pushing, ignoring both the initial plea of the OP and a warning from a mod, gets banned and another user serves up the following nugget on tbone's wall; "If Seece didn't make it a habit to harass Nintendo fans maybe this ban wouldn't have happened in the first place?" The thread in question has to be really wrought out of shape to be perceived as harassment of any kind of Nintendo fans, including tbone.
I really, really, really don't see the issue here. You've brought up other issues that are real and important but this is a petty trifle if I ever saw one. I strongly believe what I wrote earlier; that we shouldn't take into account the fact that users should be more thick-skinned, when we consider moderations, but in this case there was no attempt at riling anyone up.
