"So I wonder what all the misinformed, undereducated, sycophantic "Sony Supporters" have to say now?

I'm sure they have all kinds of bullshit excuses for them even in this case. And I'm sure if I actually bothered depressing myself by scrolling through all these recent responses, I'd see some."

A post I reported multiple times in September.... Guess what post didn't get moderated and deemed okay by the mods.

This was the post that got me to PM Kantor in the first place. A post Kantor didn't respond to. I assume he thinks it's appropriate

But hey, they are consistent... right?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5656073

After reading the entire thing, that whole thread is fully of overly aggresive tones and borderline stuff. The post itself, like many others, is borderline. Worth of a slap on the wrists? Sure. I can totally see why a mod would step in. On the other hand, I can also see why a mod would leave it alone because he isnt directly insulting anyone despite the antagonising shit.

Personally, I would have stepped in. I wasnt on the team then though so my input was nothing (And who is to say that the team didnt have a change in attitude regarding borderline, indirect stuff like that since then?!). That said, I would have probably moderated you and withdreday for the posts in this quote tree to go along with your earlier attitudes in the thread.

I would assume that Kantor didnt find it to be worthy of moderation, and that whoever was online at the time of the report was of the same mindset. You will never get a mod team that agrees on every single decision and has perfect consistency, no matter what site you visit on the web. Its one of the reasons for having more than a small group of users watching over things. Different opinions/ views are a good thing, so while one moderator would have banned DevilRising, another would advise a PM to him instead.

But more importantly... That is a post from almost 9 Months ago, Max. 9 Months! Things change a lot over the space of 9 Months. How can you hold the current team (That has lost and gained several members), to things that happened almost 9 Months ago. Different thoughts and opinions are on the team now, so certain decisions will be different to decisions from say, 9-12 Months back.

Its quarter to 4 in the morning now, so Im going to bed.

um... how come pezus didnt get any ban progression? first ban other 1 day second ban (day he came back imo even worse of a violation than the first) other still one day

Although I don't agree with his ban, I'll have to agree, I got a straight up 5 day ban with  no previous moderation. So much for progressive moderation.

Yeah. I put a note in your history and sent a message to the mod who issued the ban. I've already stated that in this thread. I can't go back in time to change a ban if I don't hear about it until after the ban is up.

Yeah I saw, I'm still venting about it though.

THanks for being direct and clear in here.  Appreciate that, i wont retract what i said about disagreeing with some of the decisions that has been made lately but i respect you being honest.

For the record though, i dont agree with Noble's ban at all.  SHould have been a warning.  The thread should have been locked and so forth but Noble is actually a XBO supporter and the thread was obviously sarcastic.

pezus is back? Somebody ban him again.

i actually lol'd... first post on new page priceless...

more to the point of pezus initial ban I think there needs to be a more clear line defined of what is acceptable and what isn't in regards to discussing moderation and bans in other threads.

The "nation" threads are community threads one should be able to ask about factual information (ie: why was 'user_name' banned?) with out fear of moderation for asking a simple question. Ofcourse there should be a limit to what can and cannot be said in such regards. Criticizing mods or rules should be left to this thread. However, a short discussion in these 10k+ page threads on information related to a ban should be allowed. Such a conversation should be no more than just quelling curiousity of some users in regards to a moderation, and this could also help mebers(new and old) to remember forum rules. If a mod feels the conversation is getting out of hand (ie: turning into a complaint / rally session, or needlesly long conversation) then a mod can stop it there and say no more go to http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=147171 to discuss it further.

Also perhaps there should be dedicated off topic and spam threads in the website issues forum to allow users to blow off some steam and it would stay off the front page of the website.

Read the above.  Thread was about should it have been locked, not if TBone should have been banned.  To which there was  a lot of conufusion about since A.  COneGamer explained to nobody why it was being locked and why TBone got banned.  B.  Mr Khan flat out lied about why it was being locked http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6216615

Trucks was the only one to come out and give the actual reason to then i asked for the thread to be locked.  |

PS I looked at the thread myself.  6 people were confused or disagreed with it being locked.  3 people thought it deserved to be.  The first few people thought i was talking about the ban, not the thread

Khan is almost never in modchat.

So I'd guess he just had no clue and was guessing.

I really don't understand your angle here. The thread is stickied and appears on top of every thread when you click Hot Topics, so anyone who is interested in discussing moderation can easily find this thread and join the discussion.

Ive already talked about this though im not sure if it was in a pm with a different user so ill explain this again.

Stickies are inactive because where theyre located.  Most people journey the front page which stickies are not on.  Its bad design.

I'll say it again. You are lucky you have a thread to complain about moderations.   Back in the day you would just be banned for mentionng a moderation... and that's true on the vast majority of forums.

Hell, the most common reaction on forums for complaining about moderations in public instead of contacting the mods is an instant permaban.

In otherwords, stop acting spoiled and be happy your parents bought you a car.  Rather then complaining about not having the car you prefer.

As the people who actually moderate the Politcs section more often then not, Khan, Kantor and I more or less agreed to be less strict in the Poltics section compared to the video game systems sections.

Why? Politics is an inherently heated subject and well... actually matters.

When talking about various things that will effect the lives of millions and billions of people, it's deserving of a bit more leeway then god damn stupid arguments over why one system is slightly more powerful then the other, or which console exclusive is going to be better.

An argument about a situation where a kid is shot dead deserves a bit more leeway then an argument about whether or not a Super Mario game bombed.

If that is the case, shouldnt he have just not said anything at all?

Eh, that was another fairly valid reason for locking the thread.

Just not the one chosen.
