And as Trucks said, as much as we want these changes to be implemented, there's nothing we can do right now. Which is a real shame.

Thread is completely irrelevant now, and is around 5 years old.
It was locked for being needlessly bumped (and the user was moderated for it). So, yeah. Good moderation.

I fail to see why it's bad to bring up an old thread.
More importantly, it's one thing to lock a thread, but another to moderate that user for bumping an old thread. It wasn't trolling, flamebaiting, or attacking someone personally. I thought it was pretty innocuous. To me, moderating that user seems like an abuse of power.

It was a prediction thread, it makes sense to bump it and see who was right. I don't see why it needed to be locked.

Well, i can see a case for being moderated for spamming, since he only wrote one word. If he wanted to reopen the discussion he should have written more.
still, you are right that the thread shouldnt be locked. Seriously, why is it a problem to bring back old threads if there is potential for new discussion on the topic? The whole locking of necro bumped threads should stop. Threads should remain open until they become a real problem. This is an example of uneccessary moderation...

So every prediction thread will get locked if it is bumped after a few years? Even if by that time we have the actual data and can look back at what we or other people thought? As long as the tread isnt harming anybody, I see no reason why it should be locked...
