Forums - Sales - Prediction: RE6 will sell over 10m units

So?

Definitely 10 7.63%

Probably 24 18.32%

Unlikely 56 42.75%

Impossible 41 31.30%

Total:131

It will easily reach 10m, people complain and complain but they are still going to buy it don't lie to yourselves its fvcking Resident Evil.

I'm not going to guess the total sales. I will, however, note that RE6 has done pretty terribly on the Most Wanted feature since E3.

@TW, Capcom just released its Sales forecast for the year ahead. 7 millions for RE6. Don't know about legs, but yeah, 10 million is now very far but 1.2 million more than RE5 (which had god knows how many reprints) in one year is great no matter what - of course, it can still "flop"

Capcom's forecast for the year ahead:

Resident Evil 6 7 million units
DmC Devil May Cry 2 million units
Dragon's Dogma 1.5 million units
Lost Planet 3 1.4 million units

Plus Capcom's best selling franchises

Resident Evil - 73 games - 49 million sales
Street Fighter - 73 games - 33 million sales
Mega Man - 129 games - 29 million sales
Monster Hunter - 21 games - 21 million sales
Devil May Cry - 15 games - 10 million sales
Dead Rising - 11 games - 5.3 million sales
Lost Planet - 13 games - 4.8 million sales
Ace Attorney 16 games - 4.3 million sales
Sengoku BASARA - 21 games - 3.1 million sales

This and other news, like shorter development times  are here:

Yes, I was sure RE6 would do considerably better than RE5, hence why I thought it would make it to 10m when I assumed RE5 had sold 8m. That screwed up my thread big time. Oh well.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

This is going to sell more than we think. I have had friends who only play FPS (think COD/Halo bots) who are now interested in this series. UI think the hardcore fans (myslf included) will still buy the game and grudge against how poor it is, but many casuals will be sucked in. THe legs won't have as long to be enjoyed however but the FW will be much larger than we here at VG Chartz are expecting

?

No way there are 73 Resident Evil games, or 129 Mega Man games. Don't know where they got that from. Every game would've sold like shit if there were that many and sold only 49m and 29m... It probably includes all versions (different platforms, special editions, maybe even NTSC, PAL, JP) or something.

Special Editions, sure. But not different regions, I think. Different SKUs count too, imo (RE 360, RE PS3, etc...)

For example, just the first game was re-released a lot of times. Spin-offs, Mobile, there's a freaking N-gage RE... I don't find strange at all that number.

Yeah did a slight edit, but that's probably it. You have it on like anything today .

Last post before lunch and work :)

But the curious thing about that list is that the best Average is Monster Hunter - 1 million per game. Very impressive, especially since there's been a lot of crappy games in the franchise too and it never left japan for real.

Did someone in this thread say RE6 is going to do as well as AC3? Because it wont be close, Creed 3 is about to utterly smash every other Creed game into dust.

Resident Evil is a more popular series than AC
