Forums - Nintendo - Who here has never owned a Nintendo console? why?

I played a number of snes games via emulation on the pc, but then I eventually upgraded to a ps2 and then ps3 and have never really looked back. I have no interest in any of the nintendo IPs other than pokemon and a single IP is not worth buying a console/handheld for.

Never. I was too young for the SNES (which I still regard as best console of all time) and when I had the choice of getting a console at Christmas in 1998, I decided for a Playstation.
Obviously I couldn't afford another one at that time, so that was my only console at that time. As every German kid I had of course a PC which was at least capable of playing games that came with magazines... so that was my other option.

Then the next gen I decided to get an Xbox purely for Halo, which I played for hours already at my local store. Awesome decision. Though getting a PS2 would've also been a good idea, however I couldn't find many appealing games on the Gamecube. Especially after playing the disgrace that was Super Mario Sunshine. I rather upgraded my PC to a decent rig.

For current gen I only had a still rather powerful PC and my brother who bought a 360. I was extremely impressed with his games and bought a 360 a year later. Just in time for Halo 3.
Then a PS3 followed in 2009 when the £ hit its lowest point. Mostly because of the exclusive games I've missed out on, but even more important, I got it because of my love towards high definition movies.
Once more Nintendos console (Wii) didn't and still doesn't offer me that much games that I'm interested in. I've played the best ones though...on my PC *cough*.
Except for the Mario games, which are really good this gen, I was generally disappointed.

I have a Gameboy Colour though, which gave me lots of hours of joy.

I've owned their handhelds, just not the home consoles. Unless you count my parents owning a Wii, but I put no money towards it and it's not mine.

I've owned a Gameboy, GB Colour, GBA and GBA SP. But never a home console.

My dad just made the decision to make us a PS1 family instead of an N64 family, and then when the time came we got a PS2 since we loved PS1 so much. So when PS3 came out I was 15 and old enough to make my own decision, and I made the dumb decision to buy a PS3 then later on a 360 as well. Wii never interested me, I don't play video games for the exercise, I play them for fun & competition.

sony is the best nintendo are cheap and graphics are bad always ms is second

What's this, a witch hunt?  wait!  I... I didn't do anything! my parents bought them!

*runs*

Now here is a false perception. Wii has a broad catalogue of real "fun" games. Moreso than the competition, some would argue.
