Forums - Nintendo - Who here has never owned a Nintendo console? why?

A lot of my friend are Sega and sony fan, I played video games since atari and then nes, snes, ps1, ps2 gc, ps3 and wii. And there is another group they play genesis, saturn, dreamcast, xbox, and 360.

In Europe, I'd say most gamers have never owned a Nintendo home console, at least until Wii. Nintendo handhelds on the other hand were always popular.

The NES and SNES never were popular here, it was PSX that popularised videogames in Europe, hence Nintendo's weakness here compared to the US and Sony's strength.

Personally, I never owned a Nintendo home console, though I new two people who had a N64, including my cousin, so I played it.

False.

NES and SNES were never much popular on the "worst" European countries, for some reason only the wealthiest countries by the time were the ones getting some Nintendo presence, like Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Belgium, France, and maybe that's it.

As for PSX popularising videogames, I'm quite aware of older consoles like Commodores and Ataris being in the memories of my older relatives.

I have an uncle who owns a ZX Spectrum 48K and some high school teachers of mine also mentioned it was the blast back in the time.

From everything I've heard early home computers were pretty big in Europe, as well as the Master System and NES.

I imagine most people at least own a Wii these days. If you don't you're not missing out on much that a PC can't emulate.

The dolphin emulator is able to run almost every Wii game. You just need to own a wiimote and nunchuk and set your own sensor bar.

Infact I know some people who were devoted Wii fans but playing on the PC... They say Mario Galaxy in 1080p is just beautiful.

Me personally never. Had a NES in my house once owned by a friend. The only thing I played was Mike Tyson Boxing. But then again the first console I ever owned was a PS2.

The closest I've come to owning a Nintendo console is 10% of my son's 3DS. I've played about 4 hours of OOT on it and got bored.

Sega Genesis sold more in Europe than NES and SNES, whereas NES destroyed Genesis and SNES comfortably outsold Genesis in NA. The first console to surpass 9m units sold in Europe was PSX, which smashed the record with 37m sold.

I never.

They owned me <3

I DONT UNDERSTAND THE ABOVE DISCUSSIONS BUT I DONT OWN A NINTY CONSOLE BECAUSE OF THE POOR GRAPHICS

I've never owned one. When I was a child, it wasn't really my decision and later, I didn't really care much for Nintendo. The games that have interested me have always been elsewhere and I don't really have much interest in playing Nintendo's games. Well, at least not enough to justify getting a whole console just for those few games. I have, though, considered getting a DS but I haven't been able to afford that. (Sure, I've got a lot of other things, including upgrading my PC, in the meantime...)

dude mature gamers don't own Nintendo consoles cuz it's uncool bro dude! what will my friends think of me!
