Can I participate with an emerald playthrough? I have never played a nuzlocke run so this will be fun, only one thing pokemon fainted is guarded forever in the box and never released

I plan on ocassionally stopping to grind. That said, grinding has its disadvantages, since it increases the opputunities for party members to perish and occurs in an unregulated environment. I've lost good party members to grinding in my past run.

Nice thread. This is the first time I have heard of a Nuzlocke challenge.

Let me think about it because for some reason every time I start a Emerald playthrough I cant stop until I beat the game and that is like 40 hrs long :S

I could never do a Nuzlocke Run, it would kill me...

Bad news guys. The ROM I was using is corrupted. I've lost all my save data!

Now what do I do? Should I look for another ROM and see if it works better? Should I try another Pokemon game to try and emulate? Should I make a new run based on my copy of HeartGold, using images from Bulbapedia as supplements instead of original screenshots? Should I just give up?

I'm posting mostly to bookmark, but I'd go with Heart Gold, definitely. That battle against Red should be fun under these rules, if you ever make it there.
