At first I was gonna give a serious response, but then I noticed... Well done.

Sounds nice but doesn't hold anything in reality with how technology advances.

How so? FLOPS/W have been a common way to gauge and showcase how computation has advanced mid to long-term. Besides he lightheartedly mentioned it, it's not like Squilliam is trying to start a serious discussion or a troll thread on the subject. We've had enough of these already.

they will be 4 to 8 times more expensive for sure then

This is 4 to 8 times more interesting than a Patcher prediction, but is still wishful thinking.

This is based on a huge assumption that Sony and Microsoft are just going to duplicate the strategy of the XBox 360 and PS3 with their next generation of consoles ... Release a powerful gaming console for $400+, lose $100+ for every unit sold, and continue with conventional controllers and user interface devices.

When you start to consider the possibility that Microsoft might be aiming to sell the "XBox 720" with an advanced version of Kinect for $400 without losing a significant amount of money, or that Sony may be following a similar approach, it should be clear that processing power would be scaled back to reduce the manufacturing cost of the system by well over $100.

Actually the huge assumption is that they aren't going to duplicate the 360 and PS3.

Tease.

The HD systems are about 2 to 8 times the power of the Wii, depending on the exact stat in question.

With great power comes great electricity bill.

35-40W? My GPU alone uses more than triple that.
