When will a 3rd 3DS model be launched ? We know it is coming, but it remains uncertain, Nintendo has odd timing. They launched the DSi XL near the 3DS launch, and GBMicro with the DS already in stores.

I ask this because I'm getting alienated by my launch 3DS.

• Firstly, you can't do background downloads. WTF Nintendo ? Sure, there are the sleep mode downloads, but the point is: while it is downloading shit, you can't do anything else. Sucks. Big time.
• Download speeds are so slow that it makes 56k feel like Usain Bolt.
• Too much fucking animations going on. When you buy something at eShop you take 1 minute: 55 seconds of animations and useless information, 5 seconds to press buttons.
• Internet browser is simply the worst browser I've seen on a mobile device ever. Even some websites linked at Nintendo video don't open properly. Have you tried to browse through nintendo.com using the 3DS browser? Laughable.
• No patch on Mario Kart 7 yet for voice chat between friends ? No instant messaging ? I feel like I'm living in XVI century.
• WTF are eShop designers thinking when building the eShop? Don't you know how to look at google's play android store and rip it off ?
• No quick removal. Wanna remove your old games ? Oh, open the settings app for that, then browse under: delete>data>3DS>3DS software>remove>feel-like-a-loser-yet?>choose game>choose game again>delete>are you sure?>you can still download it later anyway> bitch fscking slut fat virgin> now watch this animation taking 3 hours to delete 500kbs... Annoying.
• Finally, Home button denies to go Home under many situations. BITCH: If I wanna go home, just do as I say, okay ?

that model (the 3ds of course) looks very nice! I am not so sure about a 3rd iteration yet, we better wait to see how the 3ds xl turns out.

I think Nintendo though probably at this point is now full steam ahead looking into the next-gen Nintendo portable outright though. Mr. Miyamoto already mentioned this. I'm guessing that's going to be a big break from the DS line and may borrow more from the Wii U.

No 3DS model will ever include the second analog (for that it would also mandatorily have to include the 2 extra shoulder buttons). Not impossible, but it isn't likely since it would alienate some people by being Circle Pad Pro exclusive for Lite/XL users. It would also greatly increase the systems width for the shoulder triggers.

I would really like it to include what I said though:

- 16:9 Widescreen, better brightness and contrast. Finally watching 3D glasses free videos is a true joy.
- revamped 3mpx camera for better photos and video. Instagram rip off included on the photo app.
- EXTRA RAM - So it could be better at multitasking, party chat, browsing, youtube, better eShop, etc.
- Faster processor ?? Not sure if it would really be impactful.

My complains about memory and sound do not matter really, SD cards are cheap and the sound is good enough.

I don't know how I would react to see a next Nintendo portable without double screens, honestly. It is a standard now. Like motion control is being carried over the Wii U.

I wonder where they can go for the 2018 gen though... They can't come up with a different controller I think they already introduced what could be invented: motion control + nunchuk, tablet controller and conventional controller. Either mental control or there's no other way.

As for a next gen portable, I imagine a little beast DX11 capable, dual wide screened, dual analog, oximeter, maintaining 3D, and a surface projector ala Mozilla smartphone prototype just for social and OS features (I don't know how could it be used for gaming)
