In March 2013, Sony Computer Entertainment along with Sony Santa Monica will launch one of the PlayStation 3’s most anticipated upcoming titles with the release of “God of War: Ascension”.

While the wait ahead may be lengthy, new information concerning the game’s single-player was shared on Friday evening during the “God of War: Ascension” PAX Prime Panel.

For those wondering how long Kratos’ next adventure will last, it was said during the panel that “God of War Ascension” should last close to 14 hours, which is longer than previous installments.

In addition the game’s length, one of the game’s bosses was also revealed and her name is Megaera, whom is one of the game’s three Furies – the main antagonists for Kratos to battle in “God of War: Ascension”.

“God of War: Ascension” is scheduled for a March, 12, 2013 release in North America. A multiplayer beta is expected to go live later this year in which PlayStation Plus subscribers will be the first to gain access.

I'm not sure it's actually going to end up being 14 hours long, but that's certainly longer than they have claimed in the past. And on top of that, there is a multiplayer segment. This should easily have the most potential playtime of any God of War game.

Nice! 14 hours is good, but in truth will probably be a bit shorter for seasoned gamers. I'll put it on the hardest settings to get the full time out of it.

Great to hear. The Last God of War Games lastet about 7-10 hours too me. ( But ive played throug several times)
So this game beeing 14 Hours plus is really a step forward and it makes sence since they already have the engine with God of War 3.

But even when the God of War games wére only about 8 hours they have so much stuff put in 8 hours other developers couldnt make in a 20 hours plus game.

The latest example is Draksiders 2. You can play 40 hours plus to finish all of the game but ive played it 15 hours right know and ive lost interest because i have seen it. Its the same again and again. The gameplay is very stretchet too me.

So what should i say i prefer shorter games with heavy single player campagnes.

God of War Ascention will be the best God of War game yet.

It's simply not true what you say. God of War doesn't have more content packed in it than any other 8 hour games.

And the comparison to Darksiders is laughable. Both Darksiders games have at least twice as much unique content and distinct levels than any God of War game.

At Slimbeast: you dont get what i mean. God of War 3 has so many freaking awesome moments in an 8 hour packed game an Darksiders 2 with 40 hours couldnt offer. So be upset if you must but many will agree with me.

Its the same with Uncharted 2+3 ( i know you like that games slimbeast) it has so many memorable moments which games with 20 hour plus can not offer.

true, GoW and uncharte games have that in commen, yes they dont take 20 hours to finish but there 10 hour game is filled with awesome moments, epic fights and just pure greatness that most games cant match. the fight with poseidon for example, i have yet to play a game that gives me an awesome moment like that. combine all of the awesome moments in skyrim (yes skyrim!!) and they dont even come close to beating the crap out of poseidon
