Honestly this is a good place for FF fans to vent their rage like myself, instead of trolling other threads.

I bought a PS3 for one reason and one reason only, to play a good FF. FFXIII was terrible and as you said it was their fault, and I now blame them for ruining this generation of gaming for me. I rarely play this generation console games anymore, mostly PC and some PS2/PS1 (altho on PS3). I will probably never buy a game from this generation again until Bioshock infinite or FFXIII Versus.

Sorry for those waiting for Versus! I don't feel your pain but I understand it.

I honestly don't think the game is going to be released for the PS3 exclusively anymore, and I am not talking about the 360 here, "WiiU + Ps3" Japan release in 2014 is more likely at this point. Migration of the whole development to next generation consoles isn't out of question either.

Or maybe, just maybe, SE decided to put Versus on next gen consoles and so they are now making another XIII game as a filler until that time comes. Wouldn't you want the game on better hardware?

I don't understand how you can completely hate this game already either, other than for the fact that it means Versus won't appear for even longer, because this game sounds way different from XIII and XIII-2, only the same universe. I mean imagine if this game was called FF XV and all the game designs/mechanics were kept the same but they changed the character and other details. I think the reaction would be different here.

Why would the hardware matter?  a game is good regardless, and unlike some people I would have no problem keeping my PS3 for another 5 years.  I'm not some graphics whore who cares about how strong the hardware is, I want a good game first and foremost.  Hell, I still go back and reguarly play my SNES and NES becuase they had good GAMES.  

And what more reason do I need to hate it?  they keep making shitty games instead of making the good games people actively have been eagerly waiting for.  That's the BEST reason to prematurely hate a game.  

looks like there attempting lighning returns mass effect. I get the feeling there borrowing alot from that for this game. turning lighning into a shepard. customisable lighning. will probably have dialog options aswell. and a map system similar to it. and i predict this will sell about 2 million total

some of the game sounds good, i like the look of the world, but most sounds bad, countdown timer?? yuck. only playing as lighting?? I hate that character, 100 years in the future?? Not that i gave a damn about the atrocious story and lore of 13 but for the people who liked it doesnt seem like they will get closure.

Does anybody actually understand SE thinking around this? I mean 13 sold well, critics actually gave it good reviews (somehow???) and it has its fair amount of fans and haters. So i can understand the quick cash in with 13-2. Easily made since its a direct sequel of 13 and since a lot of people were complaining about 13 it was a good chance to redeem themselves (which they didnt). The game sold shitty, wasnt as well received as 13 by critics, Fans felt pretty meh about it.

And now they are again going back to a game that is based on 13. Please explain it to me??

Yet on the other hand they have versus 13 which was announced a long time ago, people are eagerly anticipating it. Chances are sales will be up there with a mainline FF. And if the game is good it could put the FF series back on track.

To be honest the decisions SE are making dont make any sense at all. Hell i would understand if this was netting them someone easy cash but i dont even see that since sales have dropped off immensely with part 2...they are just hurting the brand in the long term.

It might be because versus is exclusive that they are holding off..but even that doesnt make sense since 13 sold over 5 mill on PS3 alone. 360 sales were much less. I really dont see any logic here...

- World is ending in 13 days, and Lightning must save it before the countdown ends
- Day/night cycle included
- Tons of ways to dress Lightning up, which affects battle
- Real-time gameplay
- Control Lightning’s movements in battle

It is an action RPG then, I feel like they used Versus as inspiration this time, considering how well it was received by the fans. Maybe they want to leave a last good impression about the whole Lightning Saga thing before they move on.

No way it's going to be as ambitious as Versus though, considering the development time. It kinnda took away Versus uniqueness.

They basically saw the success of Skyrim (open world too, right?), and decided to mold it into FF, logo included.

To be honest, if somebody with a budget can make a skyrim-esque game that actually has not-god-awful gameplay and decent, memorable characters and narrative, I'm all for it.
