Forums - Gaming - LA Noire creators' next game set for PS4, Xbox 720 and PC

CVG

Details and a single screen for Whore Of The Orient, the next game from LA Noire writer and director Brendan McNamara, have been released.

The image was posted on the game's official website along with a bit of text cluing us in on setting and premise: "Shanghai, 1936. Whore of the Orient. Paris of the East. The most corrupt and decadent city on the planet, where anything can be had or done for the right price.

"Plaything of Western powers who greedily exploit the Chinese masses. Boiling pot of Chinese nationalism, with the Kuomintang ruthlessly trying to suppress Communism and the labour movement. Home to the International Police Force, a group of Western cops hopelessly trying to keep the lid on and keep the peace."

The site states Whore of the Orient is for "next generation games consoles and PC" and is developed by the "team who brought you L.A. Noire and The Getaway".

Whore of the Orient first broke cover late last year, when it was revealed Kennedy Miller Mitchell had acquired the rights to the game. The Australian film, TV and games production house was founded by Mad Max creator George Miller, and recently produced the Happy Feet films.

Miller acquired the Whore of the Orient rights along the remnants of Team Bondi following the studio's high-profile tiff with Rockstar and eventual collapse.

Team Bondi is also believed to be working on a video game adaptation of Mad Max: Fury Road, though this is unconfirmed.

if the article says next gen consoles, why you dont include wii u in the title?
just saying...

It says next-gen, yet you don't include WiiU? Does the article suggest otherwise? I don't think so.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

WiiU left out once again... Well, it looks like businesses don't seem to care about the damn thing.

Time to get to reality Nintendo fans. The middle finger is now your best friend.

@MS/Sony gen 8 consoles. That's good news.
