Apple are too big and too powerful, they overcharge for crappy products that people buy for how "hip" they are.

reminds me of the wii :P.

It's not like google is much less powerful or (evil) with it's android OS... And it's not like the above picture doesn't look like it's copied from apple either.

I have a gaming PC, an ancient phone and use linux for some things, it's not like I like apple much. But google's just as bad.

Except the Wii had great games while Apple has great nothing. :p

It is an obvious copy, but frankly, Apple deserve to be ripped off, it's not like they ever come up with anything original.

They make good stable OS's, unlike microsoft until windows 7 XD.

nintendo deserves to be losing hundreds of millions of dollars... oh, nvm.

nintendo deserves to be losing hundreds of milloins of dollars too... oh wait.

Developing and releasing 2 new consoles will have that effect. Sony and Microsoft have bled billions.

WTF are you people talking about?

Do some research and look at the phones which were sued and patents that Apple sued them with. Looking at the phones in question, Samsung "willingly" copied the Iphone and its features.

People that know me know that I don't like Apple but I hate seeing lack of common sense.

The pictured devices are different in many ways. Similar yes, copy no. You can't patent look and feel. At least that used to be the case. Now there's a precedent that gives companies the ability to crush their competition by showing a picture like what you posted.

I'm tired of Apple. They're the Call of Duty of the phone/tablet market. I'm glad I have a Samsung Galaxy instead of an iPussyphone 69s

microsoft just posted billions of dollars profit while developing a new xbox, and a new windows OS, sony's one of the worse run business's ever. Apple's run well, they price things at their price because they can. If nintendo or sony could get away with it they would too... or they tried (vita not selling 3DS having price drop).

Go Apple!

Any business would. Difference is Sony/Nintendo at least make quality products most of the time.

Apple:

We are grateful to the jury for their service and for investing the time to listen to our story and we were thrilled to be able to finally tell it. The mountain of evidence presented during the trail showed that Samsung's copying went far deeper than even we knew. The lawsuits between Apple and Samsung were about much more than patents or money. They were about values. At Apple, we value originality and innovation and pour our lives into making the best products on earth. We make these products to delight our customers, not for our competitors to flagrantly copy. We applaud the court for finding Samsung's behavior willful and for sending a loud and clear message that stealing isn't right.

Samsung:

Today's verdict should not be viewed as a win for Apple, but as a loss for the American consumer. It will lead to fewer choices, less innovation, and potentially higher prices. It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies. Consumers have the right to choices, and they know what they are buying when they purchase Samsung products. This is not the final word in this case or in battles being waged in courts and tribunals around the world, some of which have already rejected many of Apple's claims. Samsung will continue to innovate and offer choices for the consumer

I don't really care who wins this. What I do worry about is how they win it. Recently South Korea also decided in the infringment claims both had brought against each other. And in spite of the fact that Samsung is South Korean, both companies were blaimed and fined.

However, when you look at the US claims there is a difference. Even before the result, Apple were the favourites to win - NOT because their argument was better but because they were in the heart of silicon valley, very close to Apple HQ and because the jury were from the area and likely to be biased. And this is the problem. The result should have been clearly unbiased and based on the facts - not on effects on the economy or favouritism to a company. And even worse, no one seems to think this is strange - the fact that Apple were huge favs to win was widely reported in the media as was the possible bias of the jurors but there was no move to move the case to a less biased area or do something about it. I find this very strange.
