dammit Patcher, i just put away my pitch-fork away to!!!
anyway, just no, if devs want money; you either do two things;
1) continue with the online passes they've started this gen
2) create a premium package like CoD or BF
once/if devs start charging for online, is the day they lose themselves a customer
Good luck with that. No one's going to pay $60 for Call of Duty's single-player portion.
I think the online passes are infuriating gamers enough, and I think the backlash from this sort of move would do far too much damage to many of the leading publishers. As THE1 pointed out, Xbox Live users would be paying to pay. I know I won't do that.
If they want to increase income, giving out reward sis better than giving out punishments. I'm glad some publishers and developers are already using the online passes to give out additional content rather than locking-out sections of the game. EA may be turning Battlefield into a cash-cow, but even they seem to have recognised the value of a season pass.
hell no, unless its like an mmo or something. then and only then I'll be somewhat okay with it

geez Pachter is out of touch.. clearly we are going to a F2P model with in-game purchases and ads with multiplayer.

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)
If they do that I think it is time for me to call it quits on multiplayer games.

no, you pay for the privilege of being able to access online content (like multiplayer, netflix, facebook, youtube, and all the other things that are free any over other device) from your superior (ad overrun) interface.
