I think the online passes are infuriating gamers enough, and I think the backlash from this sort of move would do far too much damage to many of the leading publishers. As THE1 pointed out, Xbox Live users would be paying to pay. I know I won't do that.

If they want to increase income, giving out reward sis better than giving out punishments. I'm glad some publishers and developers are already using the online passes to give out additional content rather than locking-out sections of the game. EA may be turning Battlefield into a cash-cow, but even they seem to have recognised the value of a season pass.
