Forums - Nintendo - So who here got a 3DS XL?

I'm waiting for a color I really want (probably the incredible looking white one that Japan got).

The device is cool and all but the yellowish screens bother me. I heard  its glue that didnt have time to dry  but Im not so sure if thats really the case but who am I to know lol.

(The first batch of 3ds's back in 2011 had no yellow screens but this might really be because Nintendo produced a ton of those so the 3ds start would have enough hardware. Most 3ds units back then were stored for months before being bought by someone. Newer 3ds consoles are manufactured and at max stored for some weeks and then hit shelves. So it really might be a glue issue I really hope it is)

Yellowish tint screen is what scares me the most of the 3DS XL but after looking at a few forums it seems that supposedly it goes away after awhile or is less noticeable.  Most people seeem to believe it is the glue not being dried enough.  I'll just wait till next year probably anyways to get an XL since I have to focus on the Wii U that is coming out.  My reg 3DS will have to hold me till then.

Yeah, there is a very slight yellow tint to the screen, but it's honestly something that isn't worth being concerned over. I'm kinda a videophile myself, and I've just accepted that if I'm looking for prestine image quality that I'm not gonna find it on the 3DS.

Perhaps it has something to do with the new no reflective layer tech they using on top rather than glue not drying? the trade off being a slight tinge over reflections.

ive barely noticed the yellow tint on the XL
its not an issue at all

it is still not out here... :(

Yeah, it's definitely possible. But then again, I recently turned on my DS Lite and the screen on that looks like someone took a piss on it. The screens on so yellow it ain't even funny.

I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!

I do want one but i cant afford to buy an XL until ive sold my original 3ds, which would mean not being able to transfer over my data, so im holding out hope for some decent trade-in offers near me soon where i can swap my data over in store.

yes since my 3DS was stolen, it's nice.

Me got the red one. Heavily satisfied with it for now. Games library is excellent for me and I like a lot of its features.

All of my Ambassador titles transferred over.

It's a really good system. Much more comfortable to hold for larger hands, and just better-engineered in general. No gloss means no obnoxious hand grease and fingerprint smudges. Circle pad is redesigned. Top screen hinge clicks nicely into place instead of being wobbly since the top half is thinner and lighter this time around instead of being too heavy
