I bought mine last week for "cheap" 159 bucks (euros so its not really that good of a deal because 159 euros = 197 dollars) The regular price for it would be 199 euros which is 247 dollars (I hate this 1:1 currency crap F*you!)
And I also had to buy the charger seperately (greedy bastards... it's not enough that we pay more every time So you want us to pay even more now? ) well it was 6 euros so no big deal.
I didnt play much because Im in need of a screen protector because I hate scratches. So untill I have one I will barely play it.
I just tested some games for a few minutes each.
The device is cool and all but the yellowish screens bother me. I heard its glue that didnt have time to dry but Im not so sure if thats really the case but who am I to know lol.
(The first batch of 3ds's back in 2011 had no yellow screens but this might really be because Nintendo produced a ton of those so the 3ds start would have enough hardware. Most 3ds units back then were stored for months before being bought by someone. Newer 3ds consoles are manufactured and at max stored for some weeks and then hit shelves. So it really might be a glue issue I really hope it is)
And I somehow dont like the Dpad its so loud when you use it I dunno why they did that. It feels better but sounds horrible.
Oh yeah I bought a silver/black 3ds. I would have loved to buy a japanese white model because all the black stuff looks so boring and red/blue look like toy colors IMHO (I also hated most of the DSiXL colors so I never bought a DSiXL) The only choice left was silver/black and because the 159 euro deal was a limited 1 day offer I had to buy one. I still have my regular 3ds tho and will NOT sell it.
Btw my regular 3ds is black but at least this black is not boring. If the blue 3ds would have been available at day 1 I would have bought that instead and same goes for the snow white 3ds which i prefer over the blue one. The black top screen on the white device with grey slide pad looks awesome IMO.
