Forums - Nintendo - Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney - In final stage of develpment "Wait a little more"

Here's a better translation

It’s been awhile since we last hard about Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney. But in a discussion with Ace Attorney creator Shuu Takumi, Ace Attorney movie director Takashi Miike gave a small status update.

Miike said that development is “at its climax” and development is “progressing well”:

“Production on Layton vs Ace Attorney is at its climax. It’s like my entire life is focused on it. While I still can’t say much, it’s progressing well, so please wait a bit more.”

Takumi also spoke about the differences in working on Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney compared to his duties with the Ace Attorney film:

“While [Latyon vs Ace Attorney] is being developed jointly with Level-5, games are my job, so I can’t just leave it to someone else like with the movie.”

If there were to be a sequel to the Ace Attorney movie, it wouldn’t’ just be Ace Attorney 2 converted into a film. Miike would instead prefer to show sides of the story not presented in the games.

Maybe 2012... I believe in Capcom

Let's just hope it isn't like Edgeworth Investigations 2 where they're like "We ain't gonna localize dis crap cuz it needs to be a million plus seller day 1." Come on man, I just want my Attorneys and the hilarious breakdowns of the people they thwart. Give me that Capcom. Don't ruin this for me!

Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward = best game ever made.

Who needs Capcom when we have awesome Nintendo fans

Here's the latest info (july) for AAI 2 fan translation project

"Well, it's been a while since i bothered with AAI2 because or busy for work or because of personal depression (some members know what happened to me) making me get a profund lack of interest on romhacking.
Anyway, I am still here and care about this project even if myself is not up to date 100%, I think it's time to make a little update.
The main evolution is that the "hardcore" testing of the hacks we had in place for the text, showed that there is problems with text limits on the advanced stages of the game.
This problem is at the moment worked on by Hacko and Henke that try to convert the encoding of the game to accept ASCII. Till we don't have this working, we can't insert any text back to the game.
For the rest of the translation, because the most people like %s, here a little chart:
Literal Translation Progress:
-Case 1: 100%
-Case 2: 99%
-Case 3: 60%
-Profiles: 20%
-Maps: 99%
-Choice Buttons: 99%

I am sorry but I don't have any idea about the localization team (this part is the part of the project that was rebuild at least 3 times already) maybe because the literal translation is done so well that the localization team doesn't know how to make it better

Graphics are, from what i know, almost done till at the stage of the character animations meaning almost 99% if i didn't missed something special myself.

I want to take this post to apologize to the group and the fans but also thanks all the people that are still working on this project even if myself was not really an ideal head of the project in the last view months but you continued in your effort to complete this project even without guidance.
I don't really want to go into names because I will probably forget somebody but I think that:
tanakahouji, N-Forza, Bad Player, jinnijinjin (for literal translation), Choky (translations, care taker for both teams and for bother to answer all post in the forum even when i was not here), hackotedelaplaque / Henke37 for the hacking, mrichston for the many graphics (by the way, i didn't forget about the animation), HanOnimous for collecting the voice samples, probably Redjiggly (localization team) and all that I forgot, are to be mentioned at this point.

The bad news is naturally that there is still no patch even if some rumors are around that there is one.

For all the people that are waiting for the patch, i can only say: "Have patience. The wait is maybe long but the more you wait, the better the translation will become.".

Some special thanks to all that are still supporting us."

Pretty good, I think it will be released this year or early next year, except for the whole depression thing :(

Both series are amazing. It's something magical how they keep findind new solutions, even for these yearly releases.

New puzzles (and ever touching story) for Layton and especially new cases for Ace Attorney - it's really crazy how they can still surprise you with their solutions.

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
I'm not the biggest fan of either series (AA's gameplay is too obtuse for my tastes and PL games all seem very similar), but this is one game that I'll be VERY interested in once we get more details again.
That's about time, Level 5 announced it way before other games that have already been released.
Hopefully we don't have to wait more than some months, it has Layton written on the box, it should sell!
CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)
I agree with the gameplay part in AA. The problem is that the cases, characters and writing in general are SO good it makes you forget everything else.
