It wasn't released on the DC in the US because the DC was discontinued. It had absolutely nothing to do with the Xbox. The DC died before the Xbox was even annouced.

As the numbers show, Sega's titles did the best on the GC. Shenmue would have done way better on it. It would have had far less competition and more gamers who were into games that weren't the same old dry copy and pastes that have become a standard of the industry today.

The Xbox1, 360 and PS3 are all all about Military Shooters and Medieval/Ancient sword fights. Shenmue never had a chance on the Xbox.

Outside of the U.S. The GC didn't do as well elswhere. Even then, it still trumped the Xbox1 everywhere.

I could easilly see Shenmue on the GC doing over 500k. NIntendo overall has brought Sega the most profit since they wint software only.

Could be true with Sega's software side, but since they joined Sammy Pachislot and Pachinko Machines  are were their money flows from.

On a sales note I think the Wii is the first Nintendo home console to do decently in Europe, especially the UK.   The Wii has sold more units in Europe than the Gamecube has Worldwide.

I`d surely buy all the Sonic mainline games, the mega collection, Shenmue 2, Panzer Dragoon.
Would like to try Guardian Heroes, Sonic the Hedgehog 4, Nights, Daytona, Sonic CD.
