Forums - Gaming - You can't buy something, is it okay to get it from "Other Methods"?

Okay, I want to get Batman: Arkham City Lockdown, Ghost Trick, Scribblenauts, Crash 2 and some music and movies from the iTunes Store.

Surprise, I can't, Apple is too careless to give Ecuadorian costumers those high profile Apps, not only that, but I'm thousands of miles away from a store that would give me a iTunes gift card, they will probably never come to an Ecuadorian Store and Apple won't even allow me to create a U.S. ID... I'm pretty pissed right now, why don't costumers get treated equally?

So, I could use Google and download an "Alternative" version like all my friends do, but I won't, because I'm a good person. However, I'm really considering it. If they don't give a costumer the choice to buy their products, why the hell should I care? They weren't going to get the money anyway because the don't want me to have their music, their movies and their Apps, because they lock them for a silly, immature reason beyond my comprehension.

I won't download them from an "Alternative" website... yet... but I'm getitng pissed off at Apple. Anyway, is it right-ish to "illegally" download products they won't even sell to you but you would willingly pay if they made them available in your country?

Now, for the record, the 3DS Store is the same thing, it has ZERO Ecuadorian Apps and I can't do anything. Luckily, Nintendo is not as selfish and they actually allow me to use an U.S account.

Mod note: all opinions are welcome, but do not link to any pirated content on this forum - Kantor

Now you know how I feel when I can't get all of the J-Pop or K-Pop music that they don't carry on the US store! :/

Have you tried looking online for a US iTunes Gift Card? They should carry them somewhere that can ship to Ecuador.

It's good of you to not want to do the alternative. I understand getting frustrated, though.

Since you can't buy them legitimately, you have my (completely non-legal and non-binding) permission to proceed.

Not that I would ever engage in such behavior myself, of course. This DVD copy of the original, unedited Star Wars trilogy? Totally legit.

download them, honestly you should, if they dont give you the option to buy them then nobody can blame you for downloading them off the internet. i pretty much have the same problem, if i wanna watch how i met your mother for example i have to stick with what the TV channels are showing, which are usually just season 1/2/3 and then they repeat it. if i wanna watch the show up to date i have to use the internet, they really gave me no choice, and its there losing anything if i do, actually they gained a fan and they are gonna gain some money out of me as i am planning on buying the two books they put out the "playbook" and "the bro code"

I used to buy region 1 stuff for years while living in Europe. Can't you buy the music and dvds from amazon, they ship worldwide as far as I know. The games should be on Steam or directly from the publisher.
The iTunes store sucks. My parents came to visit from Europe and my dads iPad was pretty much useless over here.

Morally, I 100% would advise you to get them through alternative methods.

I been to Ecuador :D

don't tell me you buy individual songs from the iTunes store...

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

No, it's not okay.

But if I were you, I would have done it. The more successful the alternative versions are, the more encouraged they should become to start supporting your country.

After all (poor comparison ahead), those who fight for freedom all over the world are breaking their respective country's laws.

Give Julian Assange back to Great Britain and iTunes will reward you with what you desire

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
