I would switch to PC before getting an Xbox. I would also be an Ouya, iOS/Android or professional Dreidel player before getting an Xbox.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

So I must agree this thread is very interesting, its full of people that in all likelihood should own a 360 or at least used to own one. I suspect this gen still has many lingering Sony loyalists from the PS2 days. It was the dominant console after all so loyalties will carry over into this gen. Hopefully next gen those PS2 loyalties will die out. In the end its funny that people "ignore" 360 when it is still winning over PS3. |
Wow.
You are talking about two markets with over 75 million HD consoles in peoples homes.
There's about 30k members signed up on this website if I'm not mistaken.
the 360 is a good console with very interesting games for sure, but I decided to go with a PS3 this gen early on (which I never regretted) and I don't plan on buying another one of this gens consoles as I simply don't have enough time to play even more games
After the last generation ended, I was a PC gamer for several years. After consoles dropped down to what I thought was an acceptable price, I looked into all of them. I had no bias, so I think I was pretty fair in my evaluation, relative to what I was looking for.
What decided me on the PS3 over the 360 was 1) I'm still a PC gamers, and at that point, more of the 360's games were on PC. Keep in mind that Alan Wake had been originally confirmed for a PC release, which was a minor factor. 2) the PC is my primary online gaming machine, but I still wanted the freedom to play online with my console at my desecration without having to pay a fee. 3) honestly, The Last Guardian. I admit it, that was a very real factor, as I worship ICO. 4) other than TLG, the PS3 just had more exclusives that interested me. It's that simple.
The only thing I regret missing, other than some stray XLA titles, is Halo. I'd like to play that. Gears, however, doesn't interest me. Third-person cover shooters aren't my thing.
So, there you go, that's my rationale for going with a PS3. I'm sure I would have been perfectly happy with a 360, but then again, I'm perfectly happy with my PS3. I do think, though, that the PS3 is the more logical choice if you're also a PC gamer.
Actually, on second thought, I might have been a little biased against the 360. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING in gaming has made me rage like Games for Windows Live. That piece of processed hell came close to ruining Fallout 3 for me, which is unforgivable. To this day, I still haven't played my copy of BioShock, simply because it's also GFWL. Grr.
Well, I don't ignore it, but it's just that there aren't enough games for my tastes.
I must say that it's really incredible how on this site there are so few Xbox fans.
The PS3 and the XBOX360 share most of the third party library. I am not really interested in shooter and I don't like to pay a fee for going online.
I don't see why I should buy both consoles. The only games that I am missing out are Tales of Vesperia and The Last Remnant. The PS3 offered me Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, God of War and a good backlog of PS2 Games/HD-Remakes.
The advantage of the PS3 is that Sony has the support of both western and japanese developers.
