Well, I think this is a good thing.
After all, this is the first time Nintendo has ever done this and we didn't really know what to expect!
At least overall sales are good.

Nintendo is happy with these numbers.
I'm happy.
Everybody should be happy!

Kinda low, but for a first attempt I don't know what I was expecting really. As long as they're happy with the numbers!
| Kenology said: Download card sales will only count as a portion of the downloads since someone can go straight into the eShop and buy it WITHOUT picking up a card at the store. Can anyone confirm that? |
I'm not sure but what we've gathered is that those download card sales are tracked in Famitsu's numbers and that Nintendo released what was directly downloaded from eShop.

No, I said they'd be low. Look at the media create threads again. I remember happyD especially expecting great things here. |

Oh Jesus these numbers feel really low to me compared to what I expected. I thought it would easily pull in over 100k for two weeks.
Still I guess this is more of a result of Nintendo's very slow move into the digital realm.
Are there any benefits to buy digital versions of games? Really they should be at least $5 cheaper since they bypass all physical production, retail, and shipping costs. Even if they took $10 off each one I bet they'd still be making more profit than physical versions.
So what do consumers get for this..?

Finally, Mario's fad is over.
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I hope these sales spur Nintendo on to do something new with NSMB, make it feel worthy of that name again.

I am on the same page as Sal.
It's about time Nintendo gets this to them, I want some fresh ideas and a real revolution in the Mario series.
Sadly I don't think that will ever happen, but we'll see.

When you've hit the pinnacle of design, which sales reflect, ...
... where do you go from there? I think that's the question that's been plaguing Nintendo with regards to a number of their franchises (such as Mario Kart).
