Forums - Sales - Japan - Download numbers for New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Onitore revealed!

Need more digital sales for ALL consoles! I don't see what the big deal is showing the public how much a game sold digitally, I know there easily tracking it.

wait a minute, wasn't the fact that nintendo's servers went down suppose to be the sign that demand was high? you're telling me 60k downloads was too much volume?..

If more than 20,000 people suddenly download the same thing at once in a single country like Japan, it might.

This basically confirms that Nintendo servers are crap as well lol. Hopefully we won't use their servers crashing as a barometer for high digital sales in the future.

Don't be silly. Nintendo can't haz online. Hence, no servers.

They did not download it at the same time. Isn't this for 2 weeks time?

Yes.

Launch day = More than 20,000 (including Mario and Onitore)

The rest = Overtime

Japan has some of the best internet infrastructure in the world...I can see a game like diablo 3 or wow having initial server problems on day one since you are talking millions trying to log in or Microsoft or Apple when they have major products, 20k for a 350mb download is nothing really.

This is Nintendo servers. Hence, why it shut down.

I don't think the 60k includes the sales of download cards, which would still put pressure on the servers.  We have no idea how many download cards were sold.  That said, the server going down is still a large failing on Nintendo's part

Nintendo uses 56k modems confirmed!

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Download card sales will only count as a portion of the downloads since someone can go straight into the eShop and buy it WITHOUT picking up a card at the store.

Can anyone confirm that?
