I think I have to go buy the game on PSN for support (I have the original disk so I've never had the need to buy it.) and while I'm at it, all the Darkstalkers!

Its just occured to me. The PS3 fans should be thanking Microsoft for this...

WHAAAAA?

If FF13 was still PS3 exclusive then maybe Sony would have never filed this trademark. There would have been no need because they would have had the exclusivity on the mainline Final Fantasy.

Granted thats a lot of ifs and buts, but I just love the idea that I can thank Microsoft for taking that average game multiplatform and now hopefully this means a true RPG will rise in the ashes of Square Enix's failure!

this is the first time i hear about this game, what system was it released on and was it that good?

Beautiful game to look at (at the time).  Some great music.  A pretty standard battle system and the worst story I'd ever seen in a JRPG, ever.  It was like Power Rangers or something.

Renewal just means Sony prevents someone else from using the name. I wouldn't get excited about the prospect of any new game re-make or otherwise.

I can honestly say that if a sequel is made for a Vita, I will purchase one during the course of the 8th gen

Well this trademark renewal attracted attension and sparked interest with this franchise. Who knows if we have a large enough voice Sony will difinatly listen.

Not true, the battle system was somewhat unique back then. though it was turned base, the addition of combos plus the ability to transform into dragoons were one of the things which made this game an instant hit to a lot of people.

Though truth be told, the story was pretty meh, the battle system, though cool was very slow and got old after a while, experience and money was so hard to come by. I mean, damn! Experience and money gained from random battles were stingy as hell. Not to mention armors were expensive. Plus they took away the coolness of the dragoon form when every other enemy after gaining the ability to transform were strong against dragoons or are extremely effective against dragoons.More often than not, you'd opt to not just transform.

But I do agree that the story was kinda weak. I remember shaking my head in disbelief as every single member of your party turned out to be dragoons...damn, what are the odds of that.

Good power ranger comparison though.

I tried re playing this a while back and it felt so sloooooowww... but still, the over all package was a good rpg. not great but still good.
