Forums - Sony - Sony having a difficult time getting third party support for the Vita

@ z101

Thats not true at all, your not taking into account future hardware sales and only estimatingbased off current hardware sold. LT all three of those games should rather easily do a million, so will Uncharted.

The only one I anticipate doing around a million this year is AC

AC Liberation, COD, and LBP should all be million sellers.

In fact Liberation will be a million seller this year alone as long as its not terrible

That means than half of all Vita users must buy all of these games. Do you really believe that?

I think none of these games will reach a million. They could be lucky if they hit the 500.000. Even Uncharted managed only 650.000!

Vita is on 2.5m, and by the time AC and COD release it'll be closer to 3, and of course they'll help sell the system (among other games) so by the end of the year it'll probably be at around 5-6m. I think AC and COD could do 1m this year if they're very good. LBP will do a little lower than uncharted by the end of this year. The thing about AC:L is that it's releasing the same day as AC3, which is such a poor decision. Why not 2 weeks earlier? That could take a shit on Liberation's FW sales.

Those Uncharted numbers are inaccurate btw, doesn't include digital sales. With DD it's probably closer to 1m than to 650k. By the end of the year it'll reach 1m for sure.

I think COD has a better chance, and Uncharted will do 1m for sure. ACL is releasing the same day as AC3, which may cripple its sales.

I personally think LBP is a perfect match for the Vita and I see it selling at least 1.5 to 2 million by next April. This holiday season will be good for the Vita in the Americas imho, as it will be for the 3DS.

I think it's the perfect game to showcase the hardware too, what with all the touch features and gyroscopes and stuff. Can't wait to see what people to with them. You should get LBP2 for your PS3 man, if you haven't already.

@andrespetmonkey

It wont cripple sales at all. In fact many consumers are pre ordering both games at the same time

I was in a meeting with Sony two weeks ago and they talked about Liberation quite a bit. Its for sure a big focus for them

Oh that's cool, hopefully they advertise the shit out of it. I've heard it actually looks amazing, I've heard "on par with AC2" and "better than UC:GA" from people who've seen it behind doors. (heard on podcasts ofcourse, I don't know any industry insiders lol)

Where do you get the pre order info from?

The 3DS had trouble getting started as well and is doing fine now.

Here's what will happen; sooner or later Monster Hunter will come to the platform, and when it does, everyone in Japan, along their dogs, their cats, and their unborn children will buy a Vita. There's no way Capcom will keep such a big franchise exclusive. It may not be MH4, but even Portable 4th or something will pretty much save the Vita single handedly.

Yes. 3DS had trouble getting started at the same price point but still sold more than 2X as many units in the same time period. That really put things in perspective eh.

Sooner is how soon and later is how late? would it matter when it comes in 2014 while 3DS already got MH4 by Spring 2013?

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
