if it was the other way around then the answer would be that nintendo is making snake more popular

Umm what? I meant that if anything Nintendo would give Konami something. Snake isn't an advertisment placed in this game, he is an active part that contributes to the game and gives it a broader appeal.
I think we will end up seeing some spin-off Metal Gear game on the Wii eventually. Frankly I think there is a great chance that everyone in Smash will end up in their own title on the Wii.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
*naznatips is exempt

It would be stupidity to think that only one side would benefit from Snake being in Brawl. Which will benefit more is hard to say, bu i'd say it's Konami. But i don't think that would be legitimate way to look at it. I believe both sides are happy that Snake's in Brawl.
