Three AFC teams are on that list?  What a joke.

Also, I can't believe that the Bears got bumped up to number one by not playing.  Honestly, with that offensive line they are not that good.  The rest of the team is great, but the O-line is kind of important, wouldn't you say?

I don't have a problem with the teams on the list so much as the Bears being first. I would say they still haven't played and beaten any of the top teams that are most likely to make a run at the superbowl. Yes they beat St. Louis but that team has plenty of questions sorrounding it too after that loss to Miami. I think their game against Detroit is going to clarify where they stand a lot better. Right now there is just not enough evidence to put them as the best team in the league.

I would pick the 49ers

Seahawks have almost no offense. The only reason they beat the Pats is because the Pats have the worst pass defense in the NFL. All you have to do is throw the ball deep to a reciever being covered by McCourty and your gauranteed either a completion or a pass interference call. The reason the Pats are a hard team to beat is because Brady usually puts the team far enough ahead that the defense can afford to screw up a few times. Last Sunday the Pats came away with 0 points in 2 red zone scenarios. That would have been the difference in the game and one of those was completely on the Pats and had nothing to do with the Seahawks defense.

The 49ers are not going to let you throw 50 yard bombs down the middle of the field every time your in a hole. Add in the fact that the Seahawks are playing in San Francisco and I put their chances of winning very low.

I know and until I see a team win it all again on all offense and no defense I will not be true believer in them. The fact is it is not the best model for the NFL that tends to work like copycats. I like a mean, green, defensive machine in a physical game a lot of times more than offensive blowouts or all out offensive showdowns (sometimes). Teams like KC, GB, WAS and NO have all proven the one sided game is not the answer. Alex Smith could have a good game as he has most of the season I just think a better balanced offense and defense like the Giants has proven the better answer. I also have to give a shoutout to the Bears as they pretty much have this type of system and have done well.

There is no way I will win next week..... is there?

No one trusts in Small hands Alex Smith to continue to do that well as QB because he is the worst QB in the NFL on a good team. If the Seahawks impressive D can stop New England than I think they can easily play the 49ers at their style of keeeping low scoring games and using field position. Did not see the Giants stomp the 9ers, but I do think it has shown they are not unstoppable against good competition. SF seems good at home and Seattle seems not so good on the road. I think it will be close.

THis game and the Monday night game seem like the most interesting ones of the week to me. Usually thursday's has been boring.

You could make the case for the Niners as well. They have faced horrible defenses except the Giants? Result? 3 points. I am thinking a 13-10 game with SF coming out on top, but I see both these teams doing quite well and dare I say, make the post season.

I fully agree with #1. Bears are so badass that they can secure the #1 spot in the division on a bye week.

GB loss was a result of a bad start of the game and a terrible performance by a frustrated Cutler. As long as they remain healthy and Cutler keeps his head in the game, they will do well. They have a top of the league defense and special teams. They have a quality offense when healthy and mentally in the game.

I've also heard people saying (not in this thread) Bears have an easy schedule for rest of season... wtf seriously?

Det (hard)
Car (easy)
@Tenn (easy-med) (7-1)
Hou (hard)
@SF (hard)
Minn (hard)
Sea (med)
@Minn (hard)
GB (hard)
@Ariz (hard)
@Det (hard) (13-3?)

Thats a rough schedule by any estimation. I see 1/2 easy, 1/2 med, and 8 hard. However, staying healthy could result in a 13-3 to 11-5 type of season.

The problem I see with the Bears is Cutler. He is alot like Romo in that he plays great when things are going well but can also completely implode at times. Thinking of the Bears falling behind by two scores and needing Cutler to drive down the field in a 2 minute drill leaves me nervous.

Their defense is scary good though/

Cutler is much better than Romo.  Romo is horrible.

The loss goes to Philip Rivers and his six turnovers...

Only one of those was a gimme, though. The other five were the result of good defensive play.
