Forums - Sony - Soul Sacrifice Official Thread! Prepare to be sacrificed... ( 3 free DLC packs detailed )

has anyone read the Lore of Soul Sacrifice. it is so good and knda makes you second guess what your doing sometimes. you should also read the lore of the fiends, its all so well written.

After reading it i want a game set before SS takes place, back when Druids (the sorcerers) were much more powerful

It is absolutely incredible, I was reading yesterday and I couldn't stop, ended up reading everything. It's a rich, profound and crude world which does have a lot of space to expand this new IP and I would love to see much more of it in the coming years.

im trying to focus on Saving, however boss fights kind of force you to sacrifice the little guys to keep your offerings up

Not at all, no need to sacrifice anything. If you go into "mind's eye" mode, you'll occassionally see throughout the maps little "wells" (for lack of a better word). These places something give you weapons/shields/bonuses (without using any offerings) or, sometimes, they refill your offerings a bit. No need to sacrifice.

You'll burn through the refills on any decent health boss and be forced to sacrifice.  Flawed game design.

I wouldn't call that flawed, you could easily find the weakness to bosses and use spells/tactics that over power them without having the need to sacrifice. It's all a matter of how you approach them. Plus like he said you can also find weapons in the fight even if you do run out of refills.

I played the demo and i aprove of this game. Hype it up, i can vouch that this hype is not just sony fan overbearing optimism. Its a good game.

This is also proof that demos do sell games, cause many people here like me would probably not have pre-ordered the game if not for it. Silly analysts...

agreed

Agreed, not flawed. The refills do regenerate over time and the other "wells" also have additional weapons, etc. The boosting (or whatever it is called) also gives you more uses. I've never once ran out of offerrings in the 10+ hours I've played. Not once.

Perhaps your [KylieDog] play style is "wasteful" or maybe you should just grind stuff to be able to boost your offerings to allow more casts. I think that game design is pretty good personally.

I've played it for over 20 hours and almost every time I run out of an offerring and have to find a rat to kill and sacrifice to stay alive (by renewing the offerings).

Just played online for the first time. Damn, it's really much harder. Had some epic battles against the Harpy :) Still have no idea how to take on the Cerberus though :( How can I get the Golem?

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Should I buy this game, based off the demo? I am a broke ass college kid and don't really have the cash for this and the last of us and guacamelee.

i tried beating the Cerburus on my own using this method, but He just doesn't freeze from 2 hits(SnowRoot tri), even though I'm 13Magic/7life and the player in the vid has 11life/9Magic. I used the fruit to increase my attack and I'm also using sigils to increase Magic/attack it takes me 4-5 hits to freeze him for me.

Has anyone else tried this ?

Also, there are bigger areas in the game as far as I can tell. You can youtube the phoenix battle and check the area out.

It has a lot of replay value between single player and  multiplayer so it's worth the money.  However how much you enjoyed the demo should determin if you want to play this for hundreds of hours or not.

Iv been testing out a pure blood build with all healing spells, and i think it's actually doing alot of damage. it sucks that you cant really see how much you're doing.

all you need to do is circle around the enemy and just spam it, then run to the side and heal. For an idea on how much damage it's doing It takes 3 casts(hold) to kill one of those fat ghoul things in the cerberus battle with 4 party group. (i do use +50% dmg -25%def sigil)---     When usually it takes Snowtree rootx2(freeze) Spear fragmentx1(critical explode) then another snowtree rootx2(freeze) Spear fragmentx1(critical explode) to kill it.

The regenesis seed isnt enough healing to outdo the damage, but it does help. you still need to go off to the side and do a healing bloom every now and then.

Also try not to get hit at all, because thatll set you back ALOT cause ull need to run off again and heal

btw This is my usual cerberus setup

Btw i recommend going back to that single player quest when u need to kill that lady companion boss, and farm the stoneaxe edge spell for the cerberus battle (you need legendary rank to get it and u need barely unscathed bonus OR unscathed AND quick quest to get legendary ranking)

also guys id highly recommend the spell "stormbird pinion" (cerberus reward) what it does is it like makes you into a rocket and you repeatedly fly into the enemy (3times per 1 cast) doing damage, it actually does alot of damage based off the description. BUT that's not the reason i actually use it, i use it as a evasion move. basically when you cast it you become invulnerable for like 6 seconds (it sometimes(5%) buggs and you get hit from the charge move) but its really great for the cerberus move where he stabs the sword into the ground, just before he gets the spell off use the spell on him and it'll miss you 100% guaranteed.
