During QuakeCon, Bethesda announced the release date for the PC version of the Skyrim "Dawnguard" DLC, which lets you fight and/or become a vampire. Said release date is ... today!

The DLC will be available on Steam today in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish, for $19.99, Bethesday says. And wouldn't you know it – Skyrim itself is on sale today, for $29.99! It's also available as part of a massive "QuakeCon bundle."

The PS3 version is not out today. "We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard's performance on the PS3," a representative wrote in an update on the Bethesda blog today. The rep did not offer an estimated time frame on the release, expressing the company's disappointment at not being able to provide all Skyrim content to all platforms at the same time.

Well I guess that settles that question. PS3 seems to have some trouble with Skyrim sometimes. It's a shame.

Well at least they have confirmed that it is coming to the console anyway! I am a bit reluctant to spend £13.99 for just an expansion however... i mean that's half the cost that you can get the game for now!

or it could be a ram constrained console cant handle the game, im sure with both consoles it was a real stretch to get it on there. given what statements we have had from devs recently i would be shocked if next gen consoles have less than 8 gigs of ram, the separation between consoles and PCs are becoming increasingly blurred  provided they plan to have them out more than 5 years before replacing them
