Forums - Nintendo - I see both Nintendoland and Super Mario Bros U both being bundled with the WiiU. Anyone else?

If it was my decision, I would launch the Wii U with Super Mario Bros U for $349 and sell the Wii U tablet bundled with Nintendoland for $99.

hehe clever :D It would even be MORE clever if NL could support TWO GamePads!! Make it so, Nintendo!!

Why would it not be able to?

I could be able to support two Pads, but no where has this been shown or hinted at. Therefore I'm assuming it won't support two Pads - but I hope I'm wrong =)

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I support the idea of a $299 price point. Make hay whilst the sun shines and if you've got the most powerful and unique console on the market then you may as well flaunt it. This generation has proved that a $250-300 price point is no obstacle to adoption and the majority of the PS3's and Xbox 360's sold have been at or higher than this price level.

Tease.

Seems quite likely. Would be a good system seller at launch.

Well... why would you want it to? Most of the games that have been announced seem to only need on UPad.

Well, it would make a great bundle: NintendoLand and a GamePad. But also, you could have two teams competing against each other.

Nope. Nintendo usually doesn't start bundles until the cost of manufacturing the console goes down.

You can see the history of releases here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Entertainment_System#North_American_bundle_packages

There were times they packed in 2 games.  And they did a Duck Hunt/Super Mario Bros. bundle in the past also.

Whats your point?

People were saying Nintendo doesn't do two game pack-ins, and they had.  They did it with Super Mario Bros. in the past.

I never said they didn't. Though, Super Mario Bros./Duckhunt was a single game. I got it with my NES and I believe I still have it at my father's house.

I honestly don't remember them doing a 2 game packin either now that you bring it up.

Super Mario Bros. and Duckhunt existed as separate carts at one time.  They were put together as one.  Recently, Nintendo packaged Wii Sports and Super Mario Wii with Wii units they sold.

I know they existed as seperate carts at one time. I'm talking about the packed in version.

They are two separate games, coming on two separate carts.  If Nintendoland and Super Mario Bros. Wii came on one disk, would that make them together one game? They are still two separate games.  Ok, one can get cute and go, "But NintendoLand is 12 separate games!"  Well, except it is a collection of mini-games, that you get when you load up the main menu of the game.

just real quick, i saw alot of talk about 2 game pad support. However, nintendo stated at e3 that no game at launch would support 2 gamepads. This would defeat the purpose of the assymetric gameplay idea that the wii-u was founded on. They did say however that now that it is possible to make a game that supports 2 pads (at the time of the initial query it was not) that future games down the road (think 2013/2014) could support 2 gamepads.

While I would love to see those two games with the Wii U, that doesn't necessarily increase the likelihood that it is going to happen. I would have also loved to see the 3DS bundled with Ocarina of Time, Mario Land 3D, and Kid Icarus.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Never going to happen. At most you will get Nintendoland voucher for the eshop. Nintendo are going to want to make a profit on this console, so don't expect Wii type bundles day 1.

I think NintendoLand will be bundled at launch for...a year (?) or so, maybe less. Then it will be sold seperately in a Wii Play-esque bundle where the cost for the game and the included Gamepad is marginally more than the retail price of the Gamepad.

Note that this will be the only way to get a second Gamepad for a few months...which sorta defeats the purpose of bundling it.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
