2 games in one bundle? no way, I can see different bundles happening but with added price tag also i find disrespectful that people thinks that a NEXT GENERATION system will be launching at $250.

I don't see New Super Mario Bros. U being bundled...
They know the series sells well enough...
Both NSMB DS and Wii are selling quite well to this day...
Given the piss poor reception Nintendo Land received at E3, I think they would be more inclined to bundle it...
Have a nice day...

You can see the history of releases here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Entertainment_System#North_American_bundle_packages There were times they packed in 2 games. And they did a Duck Hunt/Super Mario Bros. bundle in the past also. |
Whats your point?
I concur with the crowd. NintendoLand in. NSMBU out, and probably just before Christmas or in the Spring to keep sales high. There will always be early adopters who will buy the system regardless of what is or isn't bundled.
Eventually they may release a NSMBU bundle but for now they want to sell the whole idea of the gamepad. NintendoLand does that (Rayman Origins would work too) but NSMBU doesn't really.

correct me if i'm wrong but nintendoland doesn't support two wii U tablets... |
I think you're right, which does hurt my plan a little bit, but the core reason for taking this approach is still valid ...
Super Mario Bros is hugely popular with both "core" and "casual" gamers, and as far as games that can be bundled with a system few would be seen as being as large of a value to as many gamers as Super Mario Bros U; this would certainly minimize people's complaints about a price increase of the console to $349. At the same time, I don't think Nintendoland has amazing appeal but most people would see it as a nice bonus when buying the tablet, and it would certainly minimize people's complaints about paying $100 for a controller.
There would be an opportunity cost of bundling Super Mario Bros. U, after all Nintendo would lose all potential revenues from selling it on its own, but it could also contribute to a significant increase in console sales; and the licensing fees and other game sales of systems that would otherwise not be bought could compensate for the loss of sales.

Huh, pretty cool idea.
I guess it all depends on the Wii U Tablet's price.

i'm not going to comment on nintendoland's appeal, i'm just going to say i think nintendo view's it as wii U's wii sports. ..a bit of software that's main purpose is to give the customer a taste of what the wii U can be used for.
bundeling mario just seems like a waste ... such a large % of nintendo buyers will get it one way or another that bundeling mario is effeively the same as a wii U $50 price cut. they'd just be better off still selling mario seperatly and dropping the cost of a wii U by $50 if they want to generate a powerful customer response.
I don't see there being any wii U tablet bundle at launch. no games need it so it seems pointless to even attempt to sell it. i'll bet nintendo is working an a new game that showcases the need for two tablets (their next wii play) and will be bundled with a tablet and available ~next holiday.
They'll only bundle NL - NSMBU might get bundled (for a short time) when PS720 launches...
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

hehe clever :D It would even be MORE clever if NL could support TWO GamePads!! Make it so, Nintendo!!

I agree there will only be one bundle, and it will be with Nintendoland. However, I do believe it's possible to see the price at $249. Just remember that the original Wii and the 3DS were both priced at $249, but each made $49 profit at launch. So if they could sell them for $199 at cost at launch, I see no reason why $249 for the Wii U (which used very inexpensive hardware except for the controller) wouldn't be either at-cost or a slight profit. They say they learned their lesson from 3DS, so we'll see. And if they really want to make an impact, the price point is the one and only thing holding them back. We'll see if they can put their egos aside and launch at an economocally-friendly price.
