correct me if i'm wrong but nintendoland doesn't support two wii U tablets... |
I think you're right, which does hurt my plan a little bit, but the core reason for taking this approach is still valid ...
Super Mario Bros is hugely popular with both "core" and "casual" gamers, and as far as games that can be bundled with a system few would be seen as being as large of a value to as many gamers as Super Mario Bros U; this would certainly minimize people's complaints about a price increase of the console to $349. At the same time, I don't think Nintendoland has amazing appeal but most people would see it as a nice bonus when buying the tablet, and it would certainly minimize people's complaints about paying $100 for a controller.
There would be an opportunity cost of bundling Super Mario Bros. U, after all Nintendo would lose all potential revenues from selling it on its own, but it could also contribute to a significant increase in console sales; and the licensing fees and other game sales of systems that would otherwise not be bought could compensate for the loss of sales.
