It's a pointless statement to add multiple generations of sales of one brand and compare them to single generation sales of other brands.  There is no value to it whatsoever other than to make Sony fanboys feel better about their brand coming in dead last in the current generation.  The only thing that matters is the sales of two competing brands in the same market, in the same generation.  Anything else is drivvel meant to skew arguments in the favor of the person making the statement, which I don't see the point of.

Just a joke about the idea that PS2 didn't die this gen and it  won't die in the next gen too... three in a row... only shows the size of success that this console did.

12+ year and 4m+ units sold per year.
